An ambitious spinoff of the 1984 sci fi flick The Last Starfighter is currently in the works.
As reported by Variety, original Starfighter writer Jonathan Betuel has teamed up with 'immersive entertainment company' Surreal to develop 'The Starfighter Chronicles', which will be the first TV show to include virtual reality elements.
The series will not continue the story of Alex Rogan, the teenager whose video game skills propelled him into a real life galactic war in the original movie. Instead, it will be a "serialized story about alien law enforcement."
