I don't understand the people who have said Boreas doesn't have good flavor. It kicks ass for me.

My Serpents are resting in their boxes for doomsday right now.

Same as you Roxy, I have 3 serpents sitting away in a draw together with both of my Bachelors.
And I have found with the Boreas for me it all comes down to the wicking and what type of wicking I am using.
I've stuck some organic cotton in mine but I make sure that the tails are nice and loose, and so far I haven't had any tank that can match the flavour in them.
The other positive thing with my Borea's is that they have refuse to leak on me no matter what style of wicking I have thrown in them. :)

As soon as I began testing the prototype I began looking at my other attys with disdain, lol!

Never got the Bachelor...I'm a font snob...I could not carry around a tank with that awful "logo" type face. Crazy huh? I heard good things about it though. Just couldn't do the look. I am very visually OCD. As a graphic designer there are just some things that are a no-go based on how they are "packaged" even if they function well.

I love the simplicity of the Boreas design. I am not as fond of what I see on the Merlin, but figure maybe it will look better in person.

What bothers you about the Merlin design? We pretty much had to add "grips" to everything since nearly every reviewer complained about the lack of them on Boreas.

I really wanna know how the merlin performs on single coil . I have spoken with Paul and he said black will probably be released 3 days after SS . Either way I'll be getting maybe 6 . 1 for me other will be sold locally . I love the boreas and it is my daily driver . Still don't know the perfect wick for it though. But i have high hopes for the merlin since i love the boreas, thank you for your hard work roxy!

I love my single coil build. It's just a simple 26/32 clapton, running at 21W with the airhole insert. Once I have a final edition, I would like to try a more interesting coil with higher power as well, but the one I'm using is perfect for me in the morning, and late at night when I want a mild vape.

Do you need some help with your Boreas wicking?

Yes please . The way that worked best for me was with 2mm holes deck . I just cut the cotton slightly fluff the ends and just flip and tuck gently in the juice well. Btw . Sold like 6 boreases here in saudi . All customers said it is far better than the supreme ;) even tried the supreme my self today . No comparison tbh . So looking forward to the merlin, serpent mini didn't satisfy me enough

I cut my wick tails long enough to slightly overlap each other, and lay them gently in the deck. Be sure they completely cover the deck, but aren't in the middle (over the 510 pin). I use 3.5mm ID coils to have plenty of wick.

That is great Boreas is so popular in Saudi! I've seen there are youtube reviews in Arabic, but I can't understand them.

Roxy, what bothers me is really little things. the grips don't match from the top cap to the bottom AFC. I like the way the 2nd run of the Boreas just has a couple on each side of the top instead of all the way around on the Merlin. I wish they had just kept the logo off the chamber (but I realize marketing is important). Or made it smaller. And I know the drip tip can be replaced, but I don't like the curved DT.

I'm just looking at the drawing, so in real life it may strike me as totally different.

THESE ARE JUST NIT-PICKING. I hope you understand that. That is what I meant when I said I was visually OCD. I design logos...I pick every line and curve apart over and over and redraw again and again just to get a curve right! Insane.

I love the way the Boreas (original) has NO vertical lines...everything is horizontal (the rings) and even though I was one of the complainers about how hard the top cap was to remove (if tightened just a little too much) since I bottom fill now, that became a non issue.

I am sure the Merlin will blow me away! Very much looking forward to it.

Hehe . Vaping is technically banned in saudi . But i do what i can to provide local vapers with new vape goodies at a decent price. Gotta love china ;) . Btw i think im the one who's preaching for the boreas here xD all the big saudi sellers dont have it for some reason.
So about the wick . Your cottons overlap? That's ok? I dont think it should ever leak this way . And the coil i remember reading you say make it allign with the top of the posts . And dont worry i always make sure the pin area is clear

It is for me, although I was never all that fond of the Serpent. I got better flavor from the Bachelor. But, I'll trade Bachelors for Merlins, too.
the way i build the boreas with a single coil works just fine ! its in rotation with a batchelor . about the same flavor wise
the only thing the batchelor has an intermittant leak and the boreas has none . the serpent i dont like ..something bucks me on that one .
i love the juice capacity of thr boreas .
so if the merlin vapes like the batchelor i will be a happy camper and will get a couple more .
hope the pre orders will ship soon

Yes, on the cotton overlapping, and yes, on aligning with the tops of the posts for best flavor.

hey roxy
the leaks are intermittant and are out of the air slots . for some reason i think its the top guscet not sealing to good .especely wen the juice level gets down to about halv level. i have some food grade paste i want to try ...maybe it ll work.
the merlin i am sure will be better that way and any other way to !

Out of the airslots could be the jc grabbing the wick, too. But mine leaks up near the top cap, and at the top of the glass. I've changed o rings, but it didn't help. And that gasket in the top is probably bad as well.

How long before these Merlins get into the US vendors hands? Would you believe it took me a few minutes to figure out what "VU" was....LOL

Someone said I was advertising it, lol!

I understood they would be finished today, so if they go out Monday, I think Robert at Subtank Supply could get them out by the end of the week.

When I hear an update, I'll post it :)

noodle !
well my tanks are allways standing up so i have no leaking at the top . put a little of that paste on the top oring and it did not solve it .
rebuild it and it leaked pretty bad . took your advise and looked at the wicking . packed some extra cotton in the bottom of the slot and then the regular cotton from the wick on top . that seems to cure it . since my coils are only 2.5 mm id it was not enaugf cotton . for me the slots are to big !
its defenetly time for the merlin .

Oh, the Bachelor needs a big coil, yes. Glad it's solved for you :)

Roxy, do you like the Merlin better than the Boreas? It being more versatile and such?

No, I like them equally. Guess what I took today when I went shopping? One of each :) I like to mix up my RTAs. Not high power vaping all day, or medium or low all day either. Boreas is for my high power vaping, and Merlin is for my low and medium power vaping.

I wouldn't be able to chose between them.

Roxy . I did a 3.5mm id fused clapton build . 5 wraps on the boreas . Kinda tastes weird tbh . Much prefer the older ss316l . Might try claptons later today

Roxy...just thought I'd drop by to say Hi :) I can't believe ECF were that stupid. You are definitely one of the nicest, coolest and most helpful people I met in the vaping community. Even though I am now an exclusive squonker I still visit the tootle puffers gear thread that you created to follow the news. It's not the same without you :(. Glad you're still accessible though and that you can still share your experience and knowledge. Cheers!

Tastes weird? What do you think is weird about it? Could be wire with a lot of machine coolant.

Worked out well in the end , just needed to break up the wire, and yep that's what i thought , i'm just gonna clean those new sits of wires ^^" , Ordered 6 merlins and 4 more boreases btw , gotta flood the market with your goodies.
I'll try to make a review on the merlin also give you my full honest feedback in comparison to other single coil rtas that i have tried. Btw Boreas is still my favorite RTA , your wick method works flawlessly , Thanks Roxy!

When you say 100% have shipped...does that include the black ones? Or just SS?
