The old "fool me once, fool me twice" adage must never have made its way to Asgard, because boy, oh boy do they keep making the same mistakes. Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman bring the war of realms home, splintering old alliances even as new ones get stronger. Delivering a healthy dose of cosmic action, Shakespearean drama and a status quo shaking reveal, issue #5 continues to prove that being worthy doesn't mean things come easy.
Considering the buildup from last issue, and the accompanying cover image to this installment, it's no surprise that Thor's fight with Odin takes up a considerable amount of the issue's page count. It's especially impressive, then, that even with the bulk of the issue dedicated to the planet shattering throw-down between gods old and new, writer Aaron still finds the time to blow up, well, everything else.
