It was certainly interesting, in The Path's penultimate Season 1 episode, to see Eddie move further away from the movement while Alison wound up despondently returning to the fold by the end. After having read her late husband's journal and apparently peering into the mind of a true believer who may have died after burning his hands on a mystical ladder in the sky. At least according to the odd Peruvian autopsy report Abe got to read.
So here entered a teensy bit of the supernatural right at the end of the season. Nothing mind-blowing, but enough to place a faded question mark on a few issues. We've gotten so caught up in a possible murder, an actual murder, and Cal himself being a narcissistic fraud that the idea that there could be some type of truth behind Meyerism never crossed out minds.
