Been tossing this around and trying to think how to keep this fair. There are 45 people on the first box. Realistically people in 30s and 40s will be waiting a bit.
So here is my thinking.
Start a second box. Anyone (except those who got 1st PIF) can enter the second box, but you can't be on both. You can get removed from 1st to go on 2nd. 2nd will be randomized.
Seems like the most fair thing to do keeping it within the original feeler thread. So essentially some people with a crap roll this time can get a second chance, some with average rolls might get bumped up on first with people going to box 2, or some can get a shot in the roll for first time.
The only downside to this is that I kind of want to give priority to anyone who hopped on the feeler before the "official" announcement. There was quite a bit of interest after the box started. I don't personally like excluding people but I'll go with the masses.
Or of course there can be another PIF box started by someone else. I can only support the one now and the second one to start.
So what do you think for box 2? Open to any who didn't get PIF box yet or just to anyone on box 1 that wants a shot at getting a box sooner? In hindsight I should have capped it at 20 to start, but honestly I said initially I would do it if 20 were interested. I had no idea 45 people would be interested in doing this, which is really awesome.
Someone (I'm on mobile so apologies for missing name) asked about me starting a Canadian box. That one I have to say I can't do. I simply don't understand enough of the rules up there and it not being my "home tuff" someone else would be much better suited to run that if enough interest.
The box should arrive tomorrow I believe to PIF #1!

Someone mentioned before doing a reverse snake type deal, with 1 box going down the list, with the other box going from the bottom of the list up. So, what if you made a random list of the second set of people interested, then reversed that list, and start the other box going up it. The people at the end of both lists will, unfortunately, still be last, for both boxes, but they will get to receive each box once, so I think that's cool. Does anyone like this idea?

I like the idea of a one and only PIF box, but it def needs to be capped at some point. If you start another box, you will run into the same problem with new people wanting to join in over and over again.
Make a "waiting list" to get in the rotation... I'm sure people will be dropping out eventually.

I still want in...would start a second box myself to take some of the heat off Dhim, but all I've got is a mech, a topper or two, and a handful of bottles of sampled but not-my-cup-of-tea juices to get it rolling. Not sure that's a good enough start on its own...

That sounds good but I feel for those that were on the first list that want to go on the second box. You should randomized them first, since they were interested first, then ramdonized the newer folks after them.
Cap the second box at a certain number.

I like this snake idea! Add new members to a randomized list stick them at the bottom then start from the bottom up with the second box. Eventually you will get both boxes!
Edit.. wait so I see what you mean about the first people that entered will actually not get the opportunity to be on the box sooner. So yeah maybe still snake idea but leave the first half on the first list then re-randomize the second half in with the new.

Start a second box. Cap both list at around 30 or 40. I am sure you will get enough people off the first list to do this. Once each box has made it through its list switch boxes and start them on the opposite list

All good points and suggestions. After the box has been around at least 5 times and no more than 10 I'll snag it back and split it up. I figure by then it will likely start getting rather large in size. If you're person 5-10 on the list and it becomes pretty sizely for the current box, PM me and we can work it from there.
Reminder if you're a vendor and want to get a couple samples and / or cards in the box PM me. It will go right into the boxes.

Dhim, Do you think we can get a thread for pictures and posts for box one and a separate thread for box two of the same.
I don't care how you do it as long as I know who to send my address to. I do however agree if you started a second list then those of us that go over from the first should beep randomized first. I am number 39 I think, so that could work both ways, more stuff to choose from, but all the vendor samples I am sure will be gone!

I had originally suggested the snake idea but wow, at this point there are a LOT of people interested. lol! so is there anyone who has wanted "in" but were a little too late, that has enough pif-ables that they can just start box number 2 on there own? Maybe do another head count and also take the bottom 5-10 from the first group, cap it at 30 or so, shuffle it and start it off? All we need is one person like Dhim is for the 1st group to be the "captain" of the 2nd group… then we won't have to stop this box in it's rotation or divide it up or anything. Once both boxes make it to the last of the list, maybe that last person can send it to the first "captain" of the opposite list and work it's way down again. Then we are still in it together, but it's not overwhelming or a 5 month wait. Hope that made sense

This is the primary thread for the VU PIF Box. A strange social experiment to bring the greatest gift of vape mail for only the cost of shipping.
There was a feeler thread posted here and from that 45 people expressed interest in participating (yikes!). The purpose of this thread is only to show the status of the actual box, keep track of who has it, and pictures once you guys get it. Let's keep the feeler thread opened as the discussion thread now.
Here are the rules:
- By agreeing to the box, you are agreeing that you are 19 or older and reside in the US.
- Shipping: You can ship it however you choose. I can't force you to get tracking, but if something happens and you don't have a tracking number, you get the blame of yanking the box. It's like 50 cents, don't be a cheapskate.
- Take a picture with the box and post it here. This should be fun!
- Take what you want from the box, put in what you don't. Simple. Don't be a hoarder, but also don't be hesitant to snatch things either.
- Bag each bottle of juice in a ziplock bag. 1 spilled bottle of juice can become a nightmare for the contents.
- It is your responsibility to contact the next in line for their mailing address. They have 24 hours to reply that they want in and provide an address. After that, contact the next in line. Copy me on the conversations if you want additional tracking.
- You have 2 days to get the box out before we start to nag you. Weekends don't count.
- If you are going on vacation or don't see it possible to handle box in a timely manor, you can ask to go to end of the list or removed entirely, your call. This includes if funds are tight and you don't think you will be able to pay for shipping.
- You can put other semi related items into the box. IE: if you're a vendor or in a band and want to toss in some cards or stickers, but keep them light.
- People who stated they wanted in are on the first wave. For now let's take care of these first. As it makes it's way around, if still interest we can add more people.
I'd also like to give a quick thanks to @ToeKnee from Apocalypse Juice for rush shipping me a couple big bottles of liquid and some stickers (I stole one because they are really cool. That's my take from the box
With that said here is the randomize list of people. If you are on this and already have 2nd thoughts, let me know via PM and I'll remove you from the list.
Most importantly, have fun with this. It's a cool opportunity to share vaping stuff you no longer use, to try some new liquids, get some odds and ends you might need, and most importantly clean up some clutter!
If this goes well, I will definitely start a 2nd box to cut the list for all. Vendors, if you want to toss in some juice to help get that started contact me. I might actually jump in and snag the box if it gets too large to take some out and split up.

One last (obvious) thing. This is all at your own risk. If something goes wrong with the box you can't blame me, anyone from Vaping Underground, or the like. The nice thing is that worst case scenario is that someone bogards the box. We can throw internet potatoes and cabbage at them, but at least those that did ship it got what they wanted.

Update... ok I contacted them. Scubamatt will have the box after I get it. Luck just so happens they live in the same state as me which will help make it go quick! Yay!
