Marvel launched their new Squadron Supreme comic today, and it's clear this new superhero team isn't pulling any punches.

As with previous incarnations of the team, the new Squadron Supreme is essentially Marvel's take on the Justice League. Hyperion is Superman, Nighthawk is Batman, Doctor Spectrum is Green Lantern, etc. The twist this time is that each member hails from a different alternate universe that was destroyed in the buildup to Secret Wars. For instance, this Hyperion is the same character that was introduced early on in Jonathan Hickman's Avengers run. This Nighthawk is the one that appeared in J. Michael Straczynski and Gary Frank's Supreme Power series. And this Doctor Spectrum is a survivor of Earth-4290001, which was destroyed by Namor and the Cabal shortly before the events of Secret Wars.
