The Wismec Updater has the message Unknow Device when I tried to update to 250W, I tried all ways to update, batteries in, batteries out, batteries in mod on, batteries in mod off. It will not update! Today is the holiday, tomorrow I speak with VS.

So, this is an RX200S for $70? Huh, mine cost $40.
Can't argue with that but with their customer service and if they use a better 510 pin and better internal wiring so it doesn't feel like a hand warmer at 100 watts i think it's worth it. People spend 50 bucks to upgrade the wiring and 510 pin on the RX series making it a 90 dollar mod essentially. if you can have for 20 bucks less from the factory with great customer service i could see it being worth it for sure.
Personally I wish they would have went with the FSK chip over the wismec chip

I think the problem with the FSK chip is its not widely known. It has a cult like following. Outside of the forums and fan groups people really dont like the chip. I know alot of people that think the G2 is a POS. If it was more popular and widely known as a great chip they might have used it.

I dont mean any disrespect by this. Im just stating why i think they didnt go with a FSK chip. Or the reason why you dont see other companys using it. I hope no one takes this the wrong way.

Does Hohmtech even sell just the chip?? Can a company buy the FSK on a large scale??

I don't disagree at all. Like many industries lack of information + advertising leads to subpar products becoming popular. it's reasons why things like Iphones and Beats Headphones can remain popular and sell a ton while better products go ignored. Also there is the "sheep factor" people like to feel like part of the "cool crowd" and buy what other people have so it snowballs down, add in youtube reviewers and website reviewers who some of which shill products for their own monetary gain. usually you'll find the best info on forums where the vocal minority who collect stuff and really get into detail with things will know what the best products are and even then not always as some people will have a "fanboy like mentality" It's why products like the RX line with a poor 510 pin, thin wiring that makes the mod a hand warmer, inaccurate temp control, and no balanced charging like promised and products like the fuchai 213 which falls 58 watts from it's promised amount, no firmware updates, no working temp control (extremely dangerous with Ni or Ti wire) can remain really popular devices. All in all I think the wismec chip is pretty good so it's nice to see a quality mod (hopefully) being made with the chip in it, but as stated the FSK would be a better option. Hohmtech just needs to push their chip. I'm not sure what they are doing but they have a really good chip going to waste

Also it is possible to buy just the chip. 65 bucks or 45 bucks for repeat customers. They were gonna sell me just a chip for 45 bucks since I have 5 of their devices. So companies like vaporshark could probably buy in bulk chips at a cost under 40 bucks each and make a device under 100 dollars that would kick some serious ass

Well said, I'll add only one thing. I would venture to say that the majority of people that think the G2 is a piece of shit either:

A.) Never owned one

B.) Had one and never took the time to properly learn the little nuances of the mod.

Yeah i totally agree with you. People like to feel part of a group so whatever is the "in" thing, is what gets pushed. I feel like people gave the FSK chip and Hohmtech a bad image from the start. I have yet to own one but from everyone on this forum that loves it. Im pretty sure its a kick ass chip. I might eventually get one, but for now im stuck on DNA's.

I actually know someone that might be selling a G2 at a steal. So i might have one sooner than later. The wismec chip is a decent chip and if they fix all the problems with the rx, better customer service, for a bit more. It is worth it.

Im Just not a fan of the look of it. The angles that lead up to the 510 are a bit ugly to me. Im glad Vaporshark is making more affordable mods that come with there same great CS.

I've never owned a vaporshark but I hear great things about them. I'd buy a vaporshark dna in a heartbeat. If the Wismec chip one has a good sale I might get it as well

Not going to lie, I've used a g2, it vapes well... Just doesn't fit my style aesthetically at all. Which is weird considering cloud maker is bigger, the only thing that makes me keep using that is the transparent side makes it look less like a damn brick.
That said, I stay neutral on the fsk. If they put the board in a more aesthetically appealing enclosure, I would probably get one.

Lol, I don't belong to any manufacturer. For me there's nothing to stay out of. Board wise I have 6 DNA'S, 8 FSK's, 4 Yihi's, 4 Wismecs, 2 Aetheon, and a few other propeitary boards in the mods I run. I like to vape everything I can get my hands on. I'm in Camp Vape Everything. For me one of the best parts of vaping is trying all the new stuff.

Oh don't get me wrong, I totally agree there.
Hell, I still have and use 6 provape mods, 22 DNA, a pair of Okl, 4 joyetech, 15 mechanical and several yihi as well.
But, I normally vape in TC, which for me, the performance from evolv is what I've come to prefer... The ergonomics I prefer for out and about is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. The sdna, shark and radius are pretty much the only 3 out the bunch that fit the bill. .. that and the reo, but then I get leakage in my pocket. Lol

I was lucky before I moved, a good friend is a shopowner and I got to use and test alot of his inventory for him, which is how I got to use alot of things without having to own them... Like the fsk. I was sold on the performance, and damn near bought one to rip the chip out of and put in a project box.

If it is vapor shark's 510, than it will be good. Everything I've used on mine has fit flush
a service rep from VS replied to me about the 510 question i asked them. they said its the same 510 thats in the rx200s, but with "thicker wiring to the board" bums me out. i was gonna get one...

edit: after also seeing coletrains photos of the overhang, yeah that wouldnt cut it for me either. oh well, lets see what comes out next week lol

Stupid move on VS's part. They started using the Wismec board because they were getting too many claims on the DNA board. Ok I get it, the Wismec board is a solid all around board. However, you update the wiring but keep the same shitty 510. The same 510 that has received thousands upon thousands of complaints. They think they got a lot of DNA claims? Wait when they start replacing 510's on this thing.

Nope, it has a different 510 than the rx200s, seems to be the same 510 as the rx300. I have had no trouble with it at all, all my tanks have worked flawlessly.

How's the finish on it holding up?

It seems to have a high quality paint finish on it, seems baked, the thing is built like a tank, heavy, the battery door is not a stamped piece, very thick and solid. The fire button is really the best I have ever had, very clicky and positive and it lights up! Overall much heavier built as compared to the rx200s.
On a scale of 1-10, I give it a solid 9.

Love the VS buttons! That's a big reason I always go back to them.
I'm torn between another heavy 3batt mod or the switchbox.

You know, for a solid, always going to work mod I would go with the VS, feels much better in the hand as compared to the rx200s, it does have a very nice shape. If you call VS they will e-mail you a 15% off coupon.
