This afternoon, I performed a really Bonehead/Stoopid move.
I went to my local gas station/carryout and went in to purchase some beer and to have them put $20 on pump #2.
Got my beer, headed to my car, got a phone call and believe it or not, I forgot to pump my gas and drove off.
About 5 minutes later, I realized that I had made a mistake.
I turned around, went back to the gas station and there was a lady at the pump that I had just left filling her car with my gas!
I politely approached her and told her my bonehead tale.
She told me that she had already charged her fill up to her credit card.
In the next 60 seconds, the pump she was using cut off at exactly $20 the amount that I had paid for.
By now she believes me, tells me to pull up to the next pump.
She inserts her credit card again so she can finish filling up her car.
When she is done, she most graciously inserts her credit card into my pump.so I could get the gas I had paid for.
I watched the pump carefully not wanting to exceed $20.
When it go to $19.90 I told the lady that that was close enough.
She did not agree so we stood there with me giving the lever small bumps until it got to exactly $20!
There is hope for the human race yet!
