Thinking of buying Smok Alien kit.

It comes with a baby beast and a few coils. The price is about 70 bucks without batteries. I have 2, 75W Picos, and a 75W Sigelei. I want to get something with a little more power and this will do the trick at 220W.

Would this be a good purchase for the price? Could you recomend any alternatives in this price range?

I'm new here and should say I really don't know. Any help is appreciated.

The Smoant Battlestar has a good following here. It is 200w. Would be fine for a Baby Beast or a Big Baby Beast if you want more e liquid capacity and an rba deck included.

If you are building your own coils like with your Griffin, I would advise against the alien kit. Get the alien mod and use your own tank(s). You can even use the Big Baby Beast on the Alien. The big baby beast has a bigger capacity of 5ml vs the baby beast capacity of 3ml.

Use vape crawler to find the best price for you.

Of course if you want the kit you can always opt for the Vikings edition.

Stick with LG, Samsung or Sony batteries. The Samsung 25R is a good workhorse.
To avoid fakes, don't buy batteries on Amazon or Ebay. Search this forum for recommended battery stores.

I got a Battlestar on Thursday due to my RX 2/3 deciding it didn't like the two battery cover. I like it a lot. It's the same shape as the RX but a bit smaller. It feels better built and works just as well. I have Samsung 25R batteries.

For what you have described wanting to accomplish, you can't go wrong with the Battlestar or the Alien MOD. I own three of the Alien MODs and have the battlestar on my next purchase list. My Hohm Tech and DNA mod's were higher priority last month.

My signature below has links to the recommended battery vendors. As stated above, stick with authentic LG, Samsung, and Sony batteries.
For a good balanced 25A 2500mAh battery, get the VTC5a. For longer run time battery, 20A 3000mAh battery, get the 30Q

More power and something with a flat top. The battery cap on the pico has delayed me from getting a bigger Griff. I want to play with bigger coil builds.

The Wismec Predator does have some nice advanced features on it, however I would be concerned with the 510 connector on it. Wismec historically has not had a good reputation for their 510 pin on the RX200, RX200S or the RX2/3. I own the RX200S and have a love/hate relationship with it. The 510 connector will not operate all of my tanks, as some of them have a little bit longer 510 pin or too short of a 510 pin. The Wismec line of MODs has also had issues with using too small of wire in their MODs and the logic chips overheat. --- Just something to be aware of if entertaining the Wismec line.

Watch some reviews on this MOD (or any MOD that you are looking to purchase). DJLsb Vapes is a highly regarded reviewer and goes very technical on his reviews.

Edit :: I just watched his review on this MOD. DJ has given this MOD a good review report, even on the 510 connector. It appears that Wismec may have listened to the community and fixed their historical issue with this MOD design!

My two aliens are such disappointments.. The paint is coming off like crazy on both of them.. I ended up scrapping all the paint off one and it looks pretty cool like that.. Think i even prefer it without the paint but the other one i am too lazy to do it and am will not take it out anymore. so it has become one of my home mods. the other disappointment with it is for whatever reason it will not read the ohms correctly on my favorite sub ohm tank. Anyway i am so excited about the predator.. fasttech says it is shipping in 2 days.. hopefully..

Shoulda threw in a couple of silicone sleeves for your Aliens. Less than 2 bucks each, and work quite well.

I can only vouch for the Predator and Alien; I use the Alien daily at the boutique I work at and it's very reliable as we use several for customer sampling and juice tasting. No miss fires, system locks, glitches, works like it should, solid 510 pin. The Predator isn't even out yet in the market, pre-order only, unless a vendor sent it to a few shops or a reviewer; we just got a silver one for sampling, feels good in the hands, feels better made than the Alien. I hear about paint chipping on the Alien, ours at work are fine, except for the bottom. If I had to choose, I say get the Predator, better quality > Alien, feels like quality without the price. I like the screen on the Aliens tho, really informative and detailed. The Predator's a lil' basic and generic, which is sometimes a good thing.

I have an Alien and a Battlestar and I love both.

I really don't like the Baby Beast tank. Too small and I am not a fan of the airflow. I love the Big Baby and Cloud Beast though.

I give a slight edge to the Alien as the Battlestar has a couple of small issues IME.... the battery door rattles a tiny bit and if I use a big tank like the Cloud Beast at 110-130w, the Battlestar will get hot. As in very hot. The batteries won't, but the tank and mod get hot. This doesn't happen with my Alien. The Battlestar is fine with a BBB at 50-60w though.

My favorite combos are the CB/Alien and Battlestar/BBB.

batllestar never got hot for me. even during testing at 200 watts.
on the flip side the rx300 and smok G320 got really hot at 300+ watt testing. the rx300 seems to heat up around 150 watts, the Smok g320 got hot around 250

I'm also curious how much of this heat is being transferred from the atty to the MOD. I know that my Big Baby Beast heats up drastically, I can only imagine what the Cloud Beast does. You don't happen to have a cooling fin do you ?

nothing wrong with that. as long as it works for you there is no wrong way to vape. some people vape at 10 watts, others at 300+ watts and everything in between

Coils for the Smok TFV8, Eleaf Melo 300, Sense Blazer 200, and Geek Vape Illusion all are swappable.
I like the Blazer top fill design a bit better.
Not spent enough time with the Melo 300 to form an opinion on its top fill longevity just yet but so far it is working pretty well.
For the original Aspire Cleito I like the 0.2Ω coil best.

I have NOT had any warmth at any wattage on the Battlestar.
Currently I only have 4 of them but none of them have got warm on me.

That's pretty awesome. I didn't know that. It reminds of Aspire Atlantis2/Melo3 and however many else have that same style coil. I like that because of convenience.

You just got to clean the 510 and pull it up once then it is fine again . I did it and been a month and don't have any 510 problem anymore

That is just for the mod with NO tank.. The Mods without the tanks seem to be in stock everywhere.. I wanted the mod with the tank.. gearbest sells it for 66 dollars so as of now I think fasttech has the best price for the kit.
