So I'm finally wanting to dip into the unregulated world. I am aware of battery safety and ohms law. My thing is I don't have the cash to dish out on buying one and was looking at buying a kit and making it myself. I have decent soldering skills and mechanical abilities as Ive been a mechanic for almost 10 years now. Just wanting to know what your guys thoughts are on these kits. Thanks in advance :)

As long as they provide some kind of support along with the kit such as a wiring diagram and are willing to answer any questions you have come up. I say go for it. The price they are asking for the kit is not out of line with what you would have to pay to get them individually after you add in shipping. And you already posses the skill that troubles a lot of people which is soldering. To me it sounds like a great way to get your feet wet in modding but watch out it can be addicting. But can also be a great source of pride when someone ask you where you bought your mod And you can answer nowhere i made it. Good luck and have fun. If you have any questions they won't answer feel free to post.

Thank you very much :) I'm hoping next week I'll be able to pull the trigger on this!! I love the idea of making my own to say that very thing, I made it. I love working with my hands, and from my experiences unregulated..... she feels like a better pull.

Welll, on my way home today I stopped at my local B&M and I was talking about wanting to dip into the unregulated world and was trying to trade an rda of mine for something possibly with the regulars. ( I'm a regular and know everyone by name ) when the guy behind the counter ( leaving name out) said hey, I'll just give you a cartel clone tomorrow with a stillair rda. Look at it as a trial to see if it's for you. I thought that was awesome! Can't wait to go back tomorrow and get it. This will be my first mechanical mod.

If you can solder,,the hardest thing is making it fit in a G box.
Please label the sled clearly, not for you of course. Never know when a"friend" might want to vape it..

I'm decent with soldering. I have to solder wiring harness a couple times a week at work. You say it's hard to fit in a g box, for instance, to the point it will drive me mad or just need to be patient and eventually I'll get it?

If you are going for a "dualie"? A discreet mosfet? Yes it will drive you mad.
I went with an Alpine tech G+ box.
Since you work in a shop, have a table grinder? You will need to shape the battery sled. You could buy an inexpensive angle grinder at harbour freight.
Don't let the above scare you off, just a few things that a new modder would not forsee.
Also, after first build, addiction sets in..

I have access to a bench grinder. I'm excited to build one, still waiting on funds though. If I become addicted, I could always build them, use them for a week to guarantee no issues and sell them once I get better ;)
