Last week's Titans episode may well be the series' best, but there's was never much hope that quality boost would carry over to Episode 9. "Jericho" succeeded precisely because it sidestepped all the baggage currently weighing the series down, jumping back in time to focus on a smaller cast and tell a more focused story. Now that the series has returned to the present, those old problems resurface with a vengeance.
