Trump-Russia inquiry: President 'probed for obstruction of justice'
President Donald Trump is being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller for possible obstruction of justice, US media reports say.

They say senior intelligence officials will be interviewed on whether Mr Trump tried to end an inquiry into his sacked national security adviser, and about the firing of FBI chief James Comey.

Mr Trump tweeted that the move was the latest action in a "phony story".

Mr Mueller is leading an FBI inquiry into Russian meddling in the election.

President Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion with Russia, describing the ongoing inquiry as a "witch hunt".

The latest development was first carried in the Washington Post. Later the New York Times and Wall St Journal reported the story, citing their own sources.

The Washington Post said the decision by Mr Mueller to investigate President Trump's own conduct is a major turning point in the investigation, which until recently focused on the Russian angle.

Why is the president being investigated?
The latest media reports say the obstruction of justice investigation began just days after President Trump fired Mr Comey on 9 May.

Mr Comey, who had been leading one of several Russia inquiries, testified to Congress last week that Mr Trump had pressurised him to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Congress May Vote On Hearing Protection Act
The House of Representatives is expected to take on House Bill 367, better known as the Hearing Protection Act of 2017. If HR 367 passes, the $200 transfer tax on firearm suppressors would be eliminated. Anyone owning a suppressor would also be in compliance with the National Firearms Act.

“The Hearing Protection Act has been one of the most important bills for sportsmen and women this Congress, which is why it’s common sense for it to be included in this year’s sportsman’s legislative package,” Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.)Duncan, the bill’s sponsor, told POLITICO. “By changing the outdated regulation of suppressors to an instant background check, just like the requirements to purchase a typical firearm, I hope the sportsmen and women in the United States will have greater access to noise reduction technology as they carry the hunting and recreational shooting tradition to future generations.”

Of course, gun control groups, like Mom’s Demand Action, are against the legislation.
“As Americans mark one year since the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando – the worst mass shooting in our nation’s history – the gun lobby is trying to sneak a dangerous provision through Congress to make it easier for dangerous people to buy silencers,” Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demands Demand Action, said in a statement. “This provision would profit gun manufacturers while making law enforcement’s job more difficult and potentially making mass shootings even more deadly.”

The legislation was recently added to Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act (SHARE Act). It will, more than likely, need to be signed off by three committees: Natural Resources Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Ways and Means Committee.

Currently, there are 146 co-sponsors, some of which are Democrats.

UPDATE:

Because of the Scalise shooting, the hearing has been canceled.

5 officials indicted on manslaughter charges over Flint water crisis
Michigan’s attorney general has filed new, more serious charges of involuntary manslaughter against five officials in the Flint Water Crisis investigation, among them the head of Michigan’s health department.
Heath chief Nick Lyon was charged with two felonies, involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office, for failing to alert the public about an outbreak in Legionnaires’ disease in the Flint area, according to AP.

Some experts linked the outbreak to poor water quality during the height of water crisis in 2014-15. Nearly 100 people were affected during the Legionnaires outbreak, 12 of whom died.

“Mr. Lyon failed in his responsibility to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Flint,” Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette told reporters on Wednesday about charges that are moving closer than ever to Governor Rick Snyder.

After being informed of the growing Legionnaires outbreak in Flint, Nick Lyon failed to inform the public of this health threat. A threat that cost of the life of Robert Skidmore.”

Skidmore was a great-grandfather with three sons, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He died from Legionnaires' disease in December 2015.
Michigan’s medical executive chief, Eden Wells, was charged with a felony and misdemeanor for obstruction of justice and lying to a police officer and failing to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Flint.

“During the course of the investigation, Ms Wells withheld funding for programs designed to help victims of the crisis and then lied to an investigator about a material fact,” Schuette said.
Lyon’s was also charged for allegedly obstructing university researchers who are studying if the surge in cases was linked to the Flint River.

Lyon admitted he was aware of the Legionnaires’ outbreak for months but wanted to wait until investigators in the state Health and Human Services Department had finished their own probe.

Lyon, if convicted, could face up to 15 years in prison for the manslaughter and up to 5 years for the misconduct charge.

Four others were charged with involuntary manslaughter: former Flint Emergency Manager Darnell Early; former City of Flint Water Department Manager Howard Croft; Michigan Department of Environment Quality’s Drinking Water Chief Laine Shekter-Smith; and Water Supervisor Steven Busch – all for failure to act in the Flint water crisis.
Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder, issued a statement after the felony charges were announced and said he is standing behind the two top health department officials.
"Director Lyon and Dr. Wells have been and continue to be instrumental in Flint's recovery," Snyder said in a news release. "They have my full faith and confidence, and will remain on duty at DHHS," according to Detroit Free Press.
Snyder said Lyon "has been a strong leader ... and remains completely committed to Flint's recovery."
The problems began when the Flint’s water supply was switched to the Flint River in April 2014, while under state emergency management, but it was not treated to reduce corrosion. Lead from old plumbing leached into the water system, causing a massive lead contamination crisis.

The spin is in the last paragraph which pushes gun control
"Was this attack evidence of how readily available guns and ammunition are in the United States? Indisputably. Mr. Hodgkinson, by definition, should not have had a gun, but he was licensed in his home state, Illinois. And in any event it would have been easy for him to acquire a weapon in Virginia, which requires no background checks in private sales, requires no registration for most weapons and has few restrictions on open carry."

It's a good video but begs the question, what the fuck is wrong with Republicans?

Paul can point out the lack of reporting about leftist violence by the media but where the fuck are the Republicans? I have not seen one Congressman, one Senator or one WH Official while being interviewed or by official press release point out that leftist violence is now common place.

It's not like it's hard to point out. Two direct attacks on Trump, dozens of riots and hundreds of physical attacks on various individuals are pure fact. And the R's keep their fucking mouth shut. Well, Paul Watson and Ann Coulter can bitch about the media not talking about these things all they want but if the fucking weak, piss hearted Republicans won't say it, the media won't say it either.

Paul, Ann, Brietbart and anyone else pointing out this leftist violence need quit bashing the media for not reporting on it until they've called out and bashed Republicans for not reporting on it.

It is a dysfunctional duopoly - a bad play for the manipulation of the masses. The fact that they exposed the deep state and telegraphed their plan so openly is designed to show us all there is nothing we can do about it. They are all involved and Trump is dirty too. He will be taken out as the final justification for taking away the 2nd amendment.

The real question is what do we do about it?
