So tell us more about the QRS11. POTUS grounded 4% of the fleet yesterday because he knows something. MilSpecOpsMonkey is pinning the blame there citing Field McConnell. They using Chinese Chips in these that might have back door access in addition to the official back door that doesn't exist?

POTUS is trying to keep them from crashing planes in retribution for what he is about to do. If they find an issue he can expand the grounding. The scrutiny alone can discourage incidents. F22 & F35 fleets have already reportedly been rechipped & corrected.
Its the 737-max that is in questions, not 777, F22 or any installed chips.
Was reading some of the technical stuff on it last night. Because of the design of the aircraft they mounted the engines farther forward than previously installed on 737's. These engine and the location can cause a high angle of attack under heavy loads. The aircraft is designed to automatically counter this condition. What is being speculated in both crashes is the pilots was not properly trained and in both instances the pilots fought the auto correction causing both crashes when they could of disengaged the system and not had to fight the controls yet because they was not properly trained they was unaware of this. US pilots are some of the best trained pilots in the world which is why the FAA didnt deem it necessary to ground the American fleet.
The angle of attack mentioned is an imaginary line from the leading edge of an airfoil (wing) to the trailing edge. This line in reference to the airflow (wind) is the angle of attack. As the angle of attack increases, the lift produced by the wings decreases and at a certain point the airfoil will no longer maintain lift.
Both the crash in October and the one last week was pilot error. They did not understand the aircraft or its design.
From Boing
"A pitch augmentation control law (MCAS) was implemented on the 737 MAX to improve aircraft handling characteristics and decrease pitch-up tendency at elevated angles of attack. It was put through flight testing as part of the certification process prior to the airplane entering service. MCAS does not control the airplane in normal flight; it improves the behavior of the airplane in a non-normal part of the operating envelope. "
Exactly. What is being speculated in both crashes is the pilots was not properly trained and in both instances the pilots fought the auto correction causing both crashes when they could of disengaged the system and not had to fight the controls yet because they was not properly trained they was unaware of this. So these correlations from NY Times are the MCAS?
A lot of people are reading this tweet as saying much more than it appears
Exactly.
The Lion Air crash occurred after the previous crew who flew that airplane reported problems with it, but the previous crews just shut the MCAS system off and did what pilots are supposed to do: Aviate.
The Ethiopian Air flight had a 29 year old Pilot-In Command. He supposedly had 8000 total hours, which I question, because I'm not sure how that's even remotely possible for someone only 29 years old And his co-pilot had a whopping 200 hours total. Hell, I've got nearly 200 hours logged myself, but I'm sure as hell not qualified to fly a 737!
In the US, you need an absolute minimum of 1000 hours before you can get an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot license), and realistically, it's 1500.

What I am starting to wonder is if they are saving this for 2020? Are we going to see a parade of Democrats going to jail as the next election is in full swing?

Sadly, I think you're right. Anyone who isn't fully stocked before November of 2020 is a fool. Are you crazy..Trump won't even arrest illegal aliens ..he isn't gonna do shit to the Democrats...
old man...you are onto something there...I'm gonna have a busy summer.Hope springs eternal.

I think if you were a military pilot or you got an aviation degree at someplace like Embry-Riddle, you can get an ATP with only 1000 hours, otherwise it's 1500.I thought the ATP requirement was 1500 hrs.
What I read is that they did some work on the MCAS system before that last Lion Air flight, but the work was inadequate. As I said earlier, I am wondering why it was allowed to continue to fly with a known discrepancy.

Senate rejects Trump's national emergency in 59-41 vote
Some Minnesota Democrats, aghast at controversial comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D), are taking initial steps to recruit a candidate to run against her in next year’s primary election, seeking to buck history in one of the nation’s most progressive legislative districts.
Several party leaders said they have had discussions about finding a candidate to take on Omar, just two months into her first term in Congress.
