Too Much Battery?

I was wondering if there were any drawbacks to using 30A batteries, but rarely exceeding a 20A load. I'm planning on wrapping coils for the first time, and buying a Smok H-Priv. I want to have ample power for coils under .2 ohms, but might not use them routinely. Will I be shortening the life of the batteries by under-utilizing them?

You wont shorten the life at all. You will possibly give up some capacity buying 30 amp max discharge. Some of the 20 amp batteries have 3000 mah. Those may last a bit longer. Nice to have some head room tho...

Actually the way to lengthen a battery's useful life is to NOT run it full-out all the time. And charge it before it's completely drained. So not using it to its full capacity in every instance is actually a really good thing to do.
