The release of Secret Wars #9 earlier this month marked the end of an era for Marvel Comics. That issue wasn't just the finale to Marvel's most recent event comic, it was also the last chapter in a truly epic tale writer Jonathan Hickman has been weaving since he began his Avengers run in late 2012. Hickman's Avengers saga was truly massive in scope. It showcased Earth's Mightiest Heroes at their very best and also at their weakest and most flawed. It brought the entire Marvel Universe crashing down, only to rebuild it bigger and better than ever.
In honor of such an ambitious story, we're looking back at the last three years of Hickman's Avengers work. These are the moments that shaped and defined his run and kept us coming back for more month after month.
