torching nickel

Hi I just bought some ni200 wire in 28ga. And 30ga. The 28 ga is tempered which is supposed to be easier to wrap coils with it said. Is untempered ni200 easy to use? Should I torch it? If I do torch it will it be easier to handle? I'm asking this because the tempered wire is a lot more expensive. If I torch untempered ni200 won't that make it tempered? Thanks for your help

No, don't torch nickel. If you want to work with Ni I'd buy the tempered - the other stuff is tough to work with. ( And heat does not temper Ni.)

+1 it makes it soft, and it won't hold the shape as good anymore. Might even change the shape, due to torching.

Along with the above, tempered is not much more money. I buy from lightening vapes and tempered is just slightly more than annealed.

Tbh the annealed is not horrible to work with imo.

I have found work-hardening nickel makes it easier to deal with. Twisting even single wires gives it a bit more strength.
