Trying to stop smoking (again), new custard juice is harsh, 3 year old custard incredibly good. Such a thing as "pre-steeped" ejuice? Speed steep?

New to the forum. Not sure if this is even the right sub-forum. Here's my situation (if you'll bear with me). I had quit smoking by vaping about 4 years ago, but relapsed about 2 years ago. I've re-committed to vaping, bought a new "box mod" and multiple strengths of a well-known custard I like (including Nic Salt 24 and 48 Mg and my usual 6 and 12 Mg of 70/30 juice).

My first big mistake: I loaded the 48 Mg Nic Salt custard in my new mod at 70 watts and took a hit. It about knocked me down! Wow, I didn't know anything about Nic Salts (I've since learned).

So I cleaned my coil and reloaded with the same flavor custard at 6 Mg. It was harsh and had very little flavor. I realized it had just been manufactured 3 weeks ago!

I'm comparing this new bottle of (fresh) well-known brand custard to the exact same brand I have left that was manufactured in April 1923! This old juice (about 50 ML left) is extremely good. Dark amber, mellow, very flavorful and no harshness. I'm not even sure if there is any nicotine in it after all this time. Anyone know? Does it dissipate over time?

My 2 questions are:
1. Can I speed up the "steep" with this new, "fresh" juice?
2. Is there such a thing as truly "pre-steeped" custard ejuice I could buy?

You could try shaking the eliquid up and then leaving the cap off of it for a little while..

You can steep up the steep with a small crock pot set on low
Put bottles (use glass) in water, turn on low, NO top on crock pot
use a candy thermometer don't let it get above 150 to160 degrees F

Thanks Jimi! I'm trying the ultrasonic cleaner method. Placed the factory juice in a brown/amber glass bottle with lid on. Running at 140 degrees F. I appreciate the temperature tip, I didn't know that!

I think the nic in a juice lasts and lasts. I've pulled out old bottles I'd lost track of, 2-3 years old, with my usual levels of 12 mg nic in 80/20 pg/vg, and they were fine. I don't know what makes them get darker with time (unless refrigerated).

I wish you success in kicking the cigs for good.

Yes, been reading up on the nic. One thing that I noticed... someone said the boiling temp of nic is very high and not to worry about losing nic from heating or long steeping, but heat could weaken flavors. I'm stocked up on coils, 2 good box mods and ejuice. Thanks for the well wishes, Bliss Doubt!

@CplSquaredaway you've already got a lot of good tips already. I've tried every speed steeping method out there, and most with not great results. The only REAL method I know of is getting a homogenizer. Hehe, I never did. Heating/warming ejuice can help to speed reactions along, BUT you should probably leave the NIC out, as it will oxidize much faster under those conditions, and just add it afterwards. I've tried mixers, frothers, and actually made juice WORSE by frothing it, as it seemed to blow up some of the high end notes on my fruits.

About the only method I use is "Seeding". I only do this for 120ml bottles most times, for juice I sell, or personally vape all the time. I'll take the last 5ml from an almost done bottle, and add 115ml of FRESH (same ejuice recipe) into the bottle, and it does seem to steep faster. Can't explain the science of it, as all it does it inject older, somewhat oxidized juice into NEW juice LOL.
