UD Goblin RTA / Dripping Performance in a Tank

I've watched Ray Lo's video before but I after I read your post I decided it was worth it to take a second look. I payed a little better attention to how he trimmed and evened it out. Rebuilt and it works pretty smooth at 35-50 watts now. I also changed the coil to though. Put a dual Tiger coil, .35 ohm. Really kicks off the flavor!

I tried wicking it like my fogger v5 and I may have hit something.
It's called "split wicking" and I had to do some digging but found a vid on how it's done.
Split wicked my Goblin last night and it's working well so far..

Fogger V6 is going after Orchid, Billow, Silverplay, Goblin, etc. Bigger deck is a key feature, along with a proven top fill implementation, external AFC, 6 ml (claimed) glass tank, etc. Stock will not breathe quite as good as Goblin, but it may be plenty and is otherwise tweakable.

No, I have not bought it yet. I'm sticking with threaded tanks for the time being to accommodate my Orchid mods with wide chimneys and external juice flow adjustment.
But that deck looks quite good to me. Yiloong is the manufacturer; don't know who makes the clone on FT. It is 6 ml claimed. My typo.

I've only heard good things about Fogger style top filling. Can't vouch for it personally though.

4 different builds and more tries at wicking than I can count in one week on my Goblin and my conclusion is it's a over hyped turd.
Shame to, because it's got looks and doesn't leak plus big air flow but it won't wick for shit.
Dry hits after two or three draws at anything over 20 watts. I've got single tube mechs that will dry it out.
It's probably ok for low power mouth to lungers, but for hard core straight lung hitters it ain't got it after a couple of pulls.

If you haven't given up on it yet, Trevor Jones has a good YouTube video on it. I've got it at 40 watts with 80vg juice and it's pretty consistent. If I increase watts or take super long pulls on it I'll start seeing dry hits but I think I found a good balance with it. It is a temperamental little bitch though.

I wicked it like Jones the first time and that was as close as I got with it, but it still couldn't keep up with me.
I bought a Billow at the same time and I can't out run or over power it no matter what build or how hard I hit it.
I hate to give up on the Goblin, but... I'll keep trying if I can put my Billow down long enough.
Been playing around with the goblin and trimming the wick really close didn't work well for me. Getting it barely into the channels I had no leaks, but then it would give dry hits. Just wicked again slightly further down the channels and the taste is amazing. But then I get a small leak somewhere. Might be out of the fill hole? Cut the wick even with the deck, put 2 drops of juice on each side and assembled. 26g 2mm 0.4ohm at 41 watts. 2.5mm is doable but hard to to not short on the top of the chimney.
I like this RTA a lot. Very finicky, but not a huge PITA to build on even with the deck being so small.

I'm actually not hearing too much hype on this. But then I don't usually see UD spending $$$ on advertising like Aspire, eleaf, Kanger, etc. I don't know, could be wrong. The one thing I never got was a dry hit. I had it on my SMPL and Dimitri. I'm trying to remember if I might have used 28g because of the deck. I need to take another look and build something different.
That's what I've been doing. I put in 100+ miles per day and it comes with me. There's so much room I've poured juice straight out of the bottle into it.Oh. Will probably spring for a Subtank next time I travel. Hate taking RBA gear.

Just got this tank today. Wicked it up similar to my orchids. I fit a dual 26 ga Nichrome build in there coming in at .4 ohms. No leaks. Crazy cloudage. Damn good flavor. I'm pretty impressed. I'm not going to say I've got this thing figured out yet because I had my orchid "figured out" my first build only to struggle with it for two weeks before I finally got it. So far so good though.

I like the bigger build space, I like that the air holes are elevated higher above the juice channels to reduce leaking.
I don't like two post set ups. Pain in the arse to trap all four coil legs at the same time while maintaining good alignment over the air holes.
