In general, our e-liquids are produced to the highest possible standards.
- Umba products are manufactured in a facility that features a 200 square foot clean-room with 600 CFM 0.3 micron filtered airflow.
- All active ingredients are stored in a clean room where bottles are filled using food or laboratory-grade equipment.
- Every batch is produced under controlled conditions and issued a batch number.
- Quality control is conducted on each batch using refractometry to ensure consistent and accurate nicotine concentration.

With regards to WTA, we take great care to ensure a consistently great product.
- Our whole tobacco alkaloids are made in a laboratory that follows ISO:9001 principles.
- Our WTAs are treated to remove nitrosamines, and also come with certificates of analysis which verify ~95% nicotine and ~5% anatabine, anabasine, nornicotine, myosmine, and/or cotinine. Check out the COA.
- Our nicotine and WTAs are analyzed by an independent laboratory using GC-MS.
- The process for Umba WTA is guaranteed to be accurate because it is produced via cGMP based protocols.
- Umba's WTAs are tested using an accredited and independent lab for the presence of carcinogenic tobacco specific nitrosamines (TSNAs). We ensure that virtually no TSNAs are present before sending them out to customers.
- TSNAs are the only known carcinogens that may be present in WTA e-liquid. While there are no studies on the link between cancer and WTAs, WTAs are expected to carry a similar health risk to other vapor products.
- GC-MS analysis has been performed to eliminate the risks from TSNAs, and residual solvent from the extraction process.
- Refractometry has been used to verify accurate alkaloid concentration for every batch.
You will never, ever find Di-Ks or any of those nasties in our e-liquid.
- Di-ketones are a class of chemical commonly used for a buttery/creamy taste and have been shown to cause respiratory illness in industrial settings, such as popcorn factories where exposure levels are high due to artificial butter flavoring. This includes acetyl propionyl, di-acetyl, and the di-ketone precursor acetoin.
- While the levels present in many vapor products are lower than those which have caused illness in the past, everyone is different and some people may develop disease even with low exposure and therefore we have all of our e-liquid tested to be free of these compounds.

E-cigarettes have helped countless people
get off traditional Big Tobacco cigarettes, however, there are countless other people who have found that there's just
something missing in e-cigarettes when used with nicotine-only juice. Something that you just can't put a finger on, but that makes a big difference when it comes to satisfying that gnawing nicotine craving.

On the other hand, if you're one of those people who have
struggled to stick with e-cigs exclusively, dropping them altogether or smoking on the side, then maybe
WTAs are exactly what you need to finally drop the stink.
WTAs work by
better emulating the effect of cigarettes by including both the main alkaloid, nicotine, as well as the background alkaloids that naturally occur in the tobacco plant: nornicotine, anatabine, and anabasine. Alkaloids are the nitrogenous compounds found in almost all plants and in many cases interact in some way with the human body, background alkaloids are the ones found in smaller amounts. By including the
full spectrum of the tobacco plant's alkaloids and in the same ratio, WTAs are able to provide a more complete vaping experience: the stimulating effect of nicotine is modified by the background alkaloids to create an overall effect that is both stimulating and relaxing.
Because WTAs work so well at emulating what makes cigarettes so habit-forming, WTA e-liquid is more habit-forming in itself. Which is why we'd prefer people who have not had any problems getting off cigarettes with regular e-liquid, stick with regular USP nicotine.
We're not out to get people addicted to our products, but rather we want people to have an alternative to something they are already addicted to. Ideally, WTAs should be looked at as
a stepping stone in the switch from cigarettes. They do not contain the cancer-causing chemicals and tar released when a cigarette burns so the
negative health effects are expected to be smaller than cigarettes and much more like any other e-liquid.
There really is not much of a difference when it comes to taste. Unflavored WTA, such as
TasteMaker Pure, has a subtle tobacco taste. WTAs in general have a
greater throat hit as compared to an e-liquid with the same amount of USP nicotine, and that is something a lot of people who are switching over from cigarettes tend to prefer, anyway.
This might sound a lot like another product called NET e-juice, so, how are WTAs different from NET e-juices? Naturally extracted tobacco, or NET, e-juice gives the same whole tobacco effect as WTA, but this extraction process is a little more crude and does not leave you with the ability to flavor the juice.
