Upgrade advice / recommend ?

Hello everyone, new member here and would like some input for an upgrade... My wife bought me an Eleaf TC40W & Melo 2 tank w/ i-just 0.3 ohm coils ( eleaf) to get me to stop smoking. Well it worked ! i have not smoked in over a month and quite enjoy vaping. However, I do feel that my istick seems to run out of battery power pretty quick so that's why im here asking advise on upgrading to a different set up all together. Right now i switch between 12 Monkeys & The Gurtz for my juice as those are the brands i like and switch it up between 6 & 3 nic levels depending on the flavor. Have my unit usually set at 22.2 Watts and the air flow open approximately 60% . once in a while i'll crank it up to 40 Watts and open the air flow to max and get some very nice clouds and awesome flavor, but the drawback is watching the juice drain from the tank faster than my old 1973 Mustang Fastback. So my question is what would be a good upgrade to my current system ? I would like something that has good battery life, produces good amount of cloud / flavor without breaking the bank. I live in Canada so i need to rationalize the poor CDN $ if I were to purchase from an American site.

What size are you looking for and do you want replaceable batteries or internal?

Replaceable batteries is fine. i don't mind spending money on a couple spare batteries so i don't get caught without,
Well everyone really likes the wismech rx200 but if that's a little to big there's the cuboid. I personally bought the smok r200 like the smaller more enclosed screen seems like it'd be more durable than the cuboid's and a little lighter. For a tank there's so many options the crown and tfv4 are prob the two most popular. I have a reaper plus and really like it a lot great top fill, plenty of coil options, and if you ever get into building the rba is velocity styled.

Since you are looking for an upgrade and know sort of what you want....
Here's the way I do it....
I make 3 lists
List 1- must have features - and how I may like to vape down the road.
List 2- lagniappe- features I want but can live without
List 3- things I really don't want at all

Then I take a look at what falls in what category then I look at price and ask any specific questions I may have

I started doing that after I followed a recommendation and dropped almost 200$ in a mod that didn't fit my needs 2 months later. my vape style changed from 12-15w to 30-40w and the mod I had couldn't fire above 15w. that was 2 years ago and the gear and has totally changed. So has vaping in general.

But try and wrap your head around what you may or may not like down the road.

I'd recommend the Wismec Reuleaux rx200 ($45 usd @ VapeNW). It holds 3 18650's for a lot of mah before battery swap/recharge. It's more ergonomic than most dual battery box mods and very comfortable to use. Has temp control and up gradable firmware.

I have the Smok TFV4 and it's a monster of a tank. Nice features but it guzzles juice faster than the old Ford 351 with a 4 barrel carb.

The Uwell Crown gets a lot of love, but I mostly use the Kanger Subtank Mini's for my daily driver.

Good luck in your journey.

I'll third the rx200, as long as you're ok with it being a bit bulky that is. if you want a sleeker mod then there's lots of options but as far as performance capabilities and price, nothing beats that currently. And, while you may not use it right now if in the future you want to go to 200w, well that's capable of it, so it's basically a "future proof" mod. For sleeker options, there are things like the VTC mini or even the Mini volt, but they won't live with you if you get the inclination to push further, but they're nice and small.

Tank wise, well first of all everything f1r3b1rd said is spot on, people have different preferences and there's honestly a ridiculous amount of options out there to suit different needs. Do you prefer the clouds for the overall experience, or do you want the full flavor? Do you like it warm or cool? Are you interested in making coils and wicking it yourself? Do you MTL (mouth to lung, suck it into your mouth then stop and inhale that) or direct to lung (just breath it in, abbreviated as DL)?

For premade coils with DL style the kings are The Crown and the TFV4 with the Crown being a bit more cost effective with cheaper coilheads and the TFV4 having a larger variety and a bit more powerful coil options. Both solid, though both you'll want something capable of 150w most likely (each have options that are solid under 100w but the price point difference between 100w and 150w is not much and worth investing if you want to push it further).

For rebuildable options the Griffin seems to stand tall among the rest, though I know a bunch are a fan of the Crius v3 and Billows v2. Personally I've fallen in love with the Haze Dripper tank which is easy to set up but doesn't travel well, just amazing flavor. And there is the Avocado with a similar and in some ways better design.

If you want MTL, for rebuildable the Goblin Mini is the current king of the hill though I know there is a version 2 coming out and there are a few new ones coming like the Balrog or even the TFV4 micro, not sure how those will turn out.

For non premade coils on MTL style the GS tank and Nautilus seem to stand strong, you can get the Triton Mini clapton coils for the Nautilus which I've read many enjoy. Then there's the Protank which I know some are a fan of.

If you want a lower power DL option there's the Kanger Subtanks and Aspire Triton/Atlantis which are hugely popular (basically the average setup, no matter what vape store you go to they'll have coilheads for these two tanks).

So as you can see there's kind of a stupid amount of options and your personal preference will determine what you like.

One thing I'd say is I'd advise getting a mod(battery) with replaceable batteries. It allows you to carry spares so you can charge while you vape, but not only that, all batteries have a lifespan, and with fixed batteries you'll end up throwing the mod away eventually where with replaceable batteries it'd be a long time before you have to do that as you can just buy new batteries (they last close to or over a year depending on treatment, though always buy quality, Samsung 25r and LG HG2 for longer duration and Sony VTC4 for higher power is what I'd recommend).

Anyways that's a lot to take in I'm sure, tell us more details about your goal and I'm sure you'll get some narrowed down results.

Moving this on over to Regulated Mods chat...

The RX200 is popular when it comes to big, big-power low-budget mods. I've personally just picked up a Kanger KBox 120 - plenty of power and features for my vaping style, dual 18650 batteries means an all-day vape (or a few days at less than 30 watts), and super-compact and pocketable at less than the size of a pack of smokes. If you're looking for good battery life at a low price I'd give it a look, but there's lots of good advice here on how to best shop around...

I'm a (new) fan of the Crown tanks -- Build quality is amazing, flow is great, haven't leaked a single drop. iJust 2 tanks on the other hand -- Great capacity (5.5ml?) and Atlantis coil compatibility (and freakin' inexpensive on top of everything else) doesn't hurt. A lot of air if you don't use the detachable ring (I didn't like the ring, but I do like control, which is another tip to the Crown).

Recently threw everything on an eVic VT (full size). Internal 5,000mAh battery. Goes a good loooong time with Atlantis .5 Kanthal coils (you can run easily at 20-25). The stainless coils on the Crowns like more wattage (and give more oomph, IMO). Internal or replaceable, something to consider.

So the obvious choice is to get at least one of each. ;-)

Can't go wrong with a RX or Cuboid with a Crown on top. Awesome mods with a phenomenal tank. Just picked up a full SS Cuboid setup with Lg batteries and a Crown tank I came in under $70.00

Even at 40w, the RX200 should easily give you a full day or 2 of vaping because it carries 3 batteries. It is my favorite mod that I have bought. It's hard to beat the features and quality for the price. It'll easily accommodate any needs you would have in the future, especially if you star playing with RDA's.

Having said that, I still use my iPV D2 for around town and work with a tank. It only holds a single battery, but it is quite small and well built. The new iPV D3 will run up to 80w, although a single battery won't last long at all at that power.

Subohm tanks will go through the juice for sure. Running coils of 1ohm+ at lower watts will help with battery life and consumption. Down the road you can even consider making your own juice. It is quite cheap to make.
