Upgrade from Smok V8 stick

Hey guys, I am new here and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I recently bought the Smok V8 stick. I'm having fun with it, but I'm thinking I want something a little more advance. I have watched a ton of reviews, but I'm still stuck on what to get. I started with the Njoy ego pen and that was a significant change from the little disposable ecigs and when I moved up to the smok stick v8 I noticed an even bigger change. So I'm thinking I would like to continue to go up the ladder.

I've looked at a few so far that I think I might like the Smok Alien Al85, Alien or the T-priv. I know they're all Smok brand, and I guess it doesn't have to be Smok, but right now I just kinda feel comfortable with Smok as far as quality. I also looked at the iJoy Captain that has the 20700 batteries, but not really comfortable with this brand after reading some reviews.

I like tanks right now, and I dont really see myself going for an RDA at the moment, but maybe in the future. I guess here is where I am stuck. If I get the Al85, some people have told me that it's basically not that much of an upgrade from the Smok stick V8 because it's only 85 watts and probably wont be able to do an RDA in the future.

If I go any higher than the Al85, Ill have to handle more batteries. I'm a little nervous about juggling a bunch of batteries. I am slowly getting over that fear, because I do treat it and respect it as a stick of dynamite lol

Any advice would be appreciated. If you guys think Al85 is just a slim upgrade, I'd rather just cross it off the list and go with the Alien or T-priv.

I like the AL85 but I grew out of the single battery box area. I also started with a pen, then got an AL85, then went to dual battery boxes. I started with the Joyetech Cuboid and then just went crazy always wanting newnewnew! I stuck with the AL85 for about 6 months until i grew tired of changing out batteries every 4 hours because I kept going down and down in ohms. I ran the AL85 with a 0.2 ohm coil and the battery would die so quickly. It almost seemed dangerous because the battery would hit about 60% and then just stop firing the coil because it didn't have the MaH left in it. So I moved up to a Smok ProColor and have been loving this thing ever since. I can run whatever I want on this thing basically and it allows me for room to grow if I wanted to get higher up in the Smok Beast lineup.

Since you are using the Big Baby Beast on the Smok V8 pen, I would suggest getting a dual battery box mod, and either going lower in ohms, maybe down to a 0.2 OR buying the Smok Cloud Beast. The Cloud beast and Cloud Beast King are amazing. I love my King, it's a shame that we get used such high amounts of vapor, then when we go to a smaller device it feels like nothing. So enjoy the "UP" because the down is strange lol.

Ah and I also won a Wismec Gnome last week and have been loving that thing too, I like the Gnome a LOT more than my Smok Baby/Big Baby Beast tanks. Otherwise, the Gnome/Smok products are all I have ever owned besides the Aspire Atlantis and that's stepping down a notch from where you are currently.

The big baby beast tank on the smok stick is a great tank. You could easily swap the coils out from the direct current ones that are recommended for the stick and keep running that tank on a different mod. I would NOT suggest the al85 because I've seen lots of reported issues as well as it will be essentially the same vape as you are getting now wattage wise. The alien and the t priv are going to function the exact same. It will come down to what you want comfort wise and looks wise. The t priv has better paint, but is rather large in hand. I used to own an alien. Never had real issues with it. The paint was cheap and prone to chipping, but other than that mine never failed me.

If you want to look at other brands, I would suggest a couple that I own. The vaporesso revenger and the voopoo drag. I have heard that fuchai duo is a great little mod that can grow with you if you feel the need to keep going up in wattage. I haven't owned one, but have handled them and they are very nice. Comfortable in hand, 2 or 3 battery capacity, fit large atomizers (since you know you will get there at your rate) and are holding up well as a wattage mode device.

Here's my take. Since you are partial to SMOK, I'd say go with the Pro Color, yes dual battery, but it's pretty simple to keep batteries straight. You'll need new and something that runs in the 30amp range. Order four with your mod and mark them. I just put a number 1 on one set then a 2 on the other. Batteries in a dual battery mod should be used and replaced in dedicated pairs. With the Pro Color you've got 228 watts to play with and a very well done temp control system. It'll handle just about any tank on the market. You'll pretty much be free to advance as you see fit. If you get the Pro as a kit it comes stock with a Big Baby Beast tank, but the mod will handle anything in the SMOK line with ease. Bottom line is, once you get passed the 80watt range of mods you're looking at dual battery mods at least. Don't let multi battery mods scare you. If you use common sense and think about it a little, they're no harder to deal with than a single battery rig. But the performance from them is worlds ahead of single bat systems.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice! I've been looking over all of the information, including the Revenger, which is really cool because the tank is in the middle. But for now I think I'm going to go with the Alien 220. I really wouldn't mind getting the Procolor, but I can't seem to find just the mod, I really want to upgrade to the cloud beast instead of getting the starter kit with same tank I already have. I wish you could just build your own kit on these sites. I mean I guess I could use the procolor tank as a back up. I don't plan to order until tomorrow so I guess ill figure it out then.

I'm having issues with finding 30amp batteries on the sites that sell the mods, so I guess ill need to buy them from a place that just sells batteries? Or would the LG HG2's be okay as long as I dont go over 80w or so?

The Voopoo Drag is great at managing battery life. By far the best of all my mods (8).
