Im sure I could go to the Provape site, but I was wondering how do you get the firmware upgraded to
go from .7 to the new .5 capability for the P3? Do you have to send the unit into Provape? If they are
charging for this service, how much is it? Anyone using the new P3 that handle .5 builds and what tanks
are you using with it? I think my first US authentic will be a P3, just doing a little more research before I
plop down a couple hundies...Thanks in advance. Chris L Tucson, Az

Go to a local store that sells Provari. They should upgrade it for free.

The upgrade is out; but, only certain dealers have the equipment to upgrade the mod. attached is a link to find the dealers The dealers that have update capability will be listed as an “Authorized Upgrade Center” on the store locator. If you're unable to find a dealer locally, contact them and they'll arrange to have it sent in. they don't charge form this upgrade other than for shipping; also the dealers should not be charging either

Thanks for the info. I know the new P3's are .5 capable, but I have seen a few offered on ebay and on consignment
locally for $50.00+ less than the new ones.

If I had one and wanted to update it, I rather think I would send it to Provape and have them do it.

That way if something goes "Sideways" they can take care of it.

If it's done in one of their authorized centers and something goes wrong............................?

Provape recommends dealers charge $5 for the upgrade due to the cost of the equipment they have to buy to do it. Some charge, some don't.
WoW... really? last I saw before I was kicked off of ecf the dmz was saying that prorape was telling them that dealers should not charge. not surprised if they changed their mind though.

I sent mine to provape, their local rep here, was having issues getting the 'ok' from prorape to buy the 'box' because his sales numbers with them was not high enough.

5$ is still cheaper than round trip shipping but , I agree with Rj-, send it in and let them deal with it.

I am looking to purchase a US made mod and I think I have enough boxes for now. I know 20w is limited, but
I still like using nautilus minis and I think a subtnank nano will be awesome on this device. Kayfun too!

Was just looking at the the p3 website from ProVape... it states that units shipped after May 5th 2015 will have the upgrade and be able to fire down to 0.50 ohm with up to 6.5 amps.. Personally, I'm not too interested in such low performance from an expensive mod like thins... Mostly because my high powered box mods are great both ways... Low sub ohm builds for RDA's/clouds or higher ohm builds for tootle puffing like on a Nautilus with the 1.6 ohm coil..they do it all with power to spare..
It's really cool I can always come down in power (watts/volts) if desired and, by the same token, go up in power firing builds as low as .1 ohm on the same mod that cost about half as much of the low powered, over priced, Provari..but that's just me I reckon! Lol

Ive never tried a Sub-Tank. Or a nautilus
But I have kayfunv4 on my p3 and it is a very nice vape. also the mod would have more than enough power for something like a nautilus.
The thing is they are a really niche product now, among all the other things out there. if you enjoy a kayfun and Vape at or below 20w you'll love it. So long as you're aware of its power limitations.
And normally I'm ready to probash, lol

Most of the Provape staff are using the Subtank Mini with the RBA base, or the v4 Kayfun. The performance is good, but not great. They also sell the Kabuki with the P3 thread since you like the Nautilus Mini. That would be about as good as it can get for that type of vaping.

WoW... really? last I saw before I was kicked off of ecf the dmz was saying that prorape was telling them that dealers should not charge. not surprised if they changed their mind though.

It was specifically mentioned by Provape to start charging for the service. They changed their pricing structure at the same time they dropped their retail prices and are trying to make it more profitable for dealers. A few years ago the only way for a dealer to make a buck was by making large packages including several batteries and a charger. Otherwise the $7 you made selling a Provari didn't go far to keep the lights on in the shop.

pretty much what the owner told me ^^^
They only sell them because he's.a fanboy.

Gotta ask the OP, are you looking at them because its a tube mod or because its USA made?

Not trying to be a douchebag, but I bought mine after already having high powered mods-like you. , and felt this ''why'' feeling when i realized I only have one atty that it can fire well.
Not taking anything away from them, but would hate to see someone else regret a purchase.

I had the Provari i won at a raffle upgraded. Took all of 2 minutes. Didn't get charged, however I can see Provari allowing this gouge. Unfortunately, Provari is still trying to dictate terms to the market. Most upgradeable mods can be upgraded by you and your PC.

I knew Provape wasn't particularly business friendly with their dealers, but $7?? That's a rather low profit margin for a rather expensive mod.

Yep, I use my Expromizer v1.1 on it. .75 Ohm 28 Gauge coil. The Expromizer is a mouth to lung hitter, but the flavor and ease of build is just great.

Thanks to all for your input. Yes I wanted to own an American authentic mod, preferably a vv/vw tube mod
device. Only had my hands on the mini and 2.5, and was impressed. As a beginning collector, still open to
suggestions. All my tubes are clones or Chinese...

Well, build quality wise you find better. I ran over one of my 2.5s with my car...twice. Thing barely has a scratch on it.
Honestly I can't think of any other vv/vw tube mods that are made in the USA. So your options to fit all criteria are pretty much null.
There are several boxes that offer other functional options and there are some tubes from Europe.
But USA Tube mods are kinda scarce unless you go mechanical.
Perhaps some of the others have an idea.
Best of luck dude! Curious to see what you end up getting!

Thanks F1. Wife wants me to spend some of my vape budget on a Vegas trip. P3 on hold for a few weeks, but still
on my wish list. Thanks for the heads up, though. Are you a "fan boy" or not? Part of the appeal is walking around our
local B&M or a vape meet/convention with an authentic, expensive mod in hand. Used to see a guy walk in with an
authentic Carvella and I admit, I was a little envious. What a sweet device! Cant remember what rda he had on, but
at the time that was a big deal.

Lmao! no m not a fanboy at all. I'm just a vaping hobbyist. I have several mods in my collection most are in the 180-200$ price range. Not sure where the line is for 'high end' but I was recently told by someone here that what I have is crap- if that's the case I like crap.
I have a p2.5 mini and a p2.5 standard that helped me get off cigs. I picked up a p3 beta because it was a good buy and couldn't pass it up.
Normally I írun either a DIY dna40, a Vapor Shark dna40, an SD mini or an authentic mech. --that my typical rotation. The p3 is usually used in mini mode on a date night or something like that when I don't wanna make clouds.

Well, thanks for your input. Im just a beginning collector looking for an authentic US mod, figured Provari would be a good place to start. Most expensive mod I own is a Sig 150, which I just use at home. I use those ego style devices most of the time at work because of the work environment. All my tubes are clones, and I have a complete set of
ISticks. TC will be sometime in the future.

Well, tc is great sometimes, I use it ....rarely lately,
And provari again tough as nails, and wont die, it just doesnr fir my normal vape style, typically I'm running a mechanical or the sxmini between 50-60 watts, the dna40's get used at 40w with a sub-ohm clearo/nickel coil and only because of the form factor of the vaporshark. Personally, I prefer the yihi boards.

that sig 150 is a beast!! Ive come close getting one a few times.
There are some fantastic us made mechanicals and boxes

If you are going to buy a P3 get the TI. It's as light as a feather and built like a tank. I have the stainless steel and TI and I couldn't be more pleased.

If you want a regulated mod made in America...

ProVape or House of Hybrids.

ProVari P3, or ZNA 30

Just my opinion, Jim

So the P3 can now handle down to .5ohms but is capped at 6.5amps? What is the point of that?

I know subohmed clearos and RTAs are all the rage right now, but most of them were designed to be hit harder than 3v. It sounds like Provape did this just so they can claim their devices CAN fire .5ohm coil.

Actually, I have a KayFun built to .66 and on a P3 at 20 watts...

It's a damn good vape!!!

That is all.
