Got my Black Crown today!
Great, what coil will you be using in it at first? I have a ipv4 and am interested in knowing how it vapes at higher than 50J as that is as high as the ipv4 goes, I see you have the Sigelei 150 and that goes up to 100J.

Remember even though your sig 150 has tc it can't do tc on ss coiks so you have to use these coiks in power mode unless you use the ni200 which are .15 coils

Thanks, I've tried Ni coils and didn't like the way they vaped. Maybe that will change with the new Crown? Idk I was into rebuilding for a while but got away from it, mostly out of being to busy. For now I'm just sticking with kenthal. Thank you!

Why do you think? I prefer a cooler vape and the N coils (at least on the Trition) were too hot.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I suppose because of their design and the fact they wick so good, I use a ipv4 and 45j at 500d, definitely cooler than the .25ss, I'm also comparing to the Sigelei Elite 2 using ni200, the Crown is cooler. The Crown has great airflow to cool things down.

i set the crown ni at 50j and 572f its as hot as a maganus, hotter then an STM but not by much. n comparison tothe ss coils just depend son how high you run them how hot they get .

bUT TRY TAKING THE .5 COILS TO 60ISH THEY REALLY SEEM TO SHINE AROUND THAT WATTAGE

ALSO I WAS REALLY ABLE TO GET THE CROWN NI COILS TO WRK WELL BELOW 400 DEGREES

and how open your afc ring is will greatly effect temperature

You know, I switched out the .50 yesterday and loaded the ni200, I used the .25 first, I guess I got somewhat spoiled by the .25. I just could not get the satisfaction out of the .50 just not as dense as the .25, I pushed it up to the point that I was getting that lousy burnt juice taste. Oh well.

I agree - the .25 coil is my favorite! The NI coil works well, but the flavor from the 0.25 is the best I've found in any tank so far.

I would have to agree also. When I bought mine I ordered two boxes of .25 coils with it. Started on the .25 and decided I would try the nickel coil next. However The coils last so long I couldn't convince myself to run the nickel coil when it was due for a new coil. Bottom line is I haven't tried the nickel or the .5 ohm coils as the .25 seems to be made especially for my style of vaping. With this tank I seem to finally be past my case of shiney itus. Who'da thunk !!

Several months ago a member here started a thread about how happy he was with some tank he bought and claimed he was finished with buying and was content with what he had. I threw the bullshit flag on that one. I predicted he would be back at the upgrading game before long. Funny haven't heard a lot from him since. Just more evidence that there is a perfect setup for most people. Even if it hasn't been invented as of yet.
Sorry... back on topic... I love the coils that come with this tank but fear that as time goes by I might have a harder time finding them. They are pretty much as good as anything I build and better than alot. Seriously considering buying the rebuildable deck for this one. Anybody that has one please chime in.
Is the airflow as good ? How about flavor and leaking ? How does it handle higher wattages ?

Have to agree with all of you. The Crown has finally satisfied my need to continue to buy new tanks. Now its just a matter of keeping coils on hand hahahah. Such a change up. Guess now will buy mods and juice instead.
@nodor , regarding your question on the RBA deck. A few of us have them and my experience has been so so with it. I have used TI, NI200 and Kanthal in it. Since using the crown nothing else compares to it so it may not have gotten a fair shake. Just received my SS wire so will do a build on it tonight or tomorrow in order to give it a fair test. As far as the RBA itself, I found it a bit more restricted in terms of airflow that the stock coils but that isnt saying much because the coils themselves have huge airflow which is more than I need. I did find wicking it was not difficult but it did have a tendency to leak if you filled via top fill. Bottom fill works great but I believe that by filling via top fill, it adds some pressure in the tank and the wicking gets pushed in slightly leading to leaks. I am still working with this and many have had good experiences with it.

I found a review on the RBA. However, I'll have to disagree with this guy regarding a 3mm ID coil causing dry hits. I get better wicking on a RDA with a 3mm ID coil, than with a 2.5mm coil. The problem I can see with a 3mm ID coil is more restricted airflow, and that might be the cause for a dry hit, due to the lack of airflow, the coil isn't cooled enough. I might try a vertical 3mm ID coil build on it as well.
Anyhow, here's the video
lol thanks for pointing this out. I completely missed this

Well I have to say I think I've found my perfect set-up with the Crown..it truly is the best tank I've found yet and I don't see buying any other tanks in the near future.. I run the .25 SS on my two IPV4's and the .5 SS on the D2...
I don't like the ni200 in TC much... the stainless coils are so damn good, and they serve me well with all around satisfaction... Finally! Lol
But I still love dripping on my various RDA's, and again I don't use TC at all..
I like 24g Nichrome 80, dual coils at .21 ohms on the IPV3 when I'm in the mood to blow clouds..but I'm really loving my Crown tanks..gonna pick up a couple more soon..

The SS coils are so damn good its unbelievable the flavor you get from these. I am going to wrap some dual SS coils for my billows v2 tonight and hopefully those will be just a good. Hard to believe how great these crown coils are... at least the .25 anyway. the Ni200 are ok at high watts and temp but they dont compare to the flavor profile that you can get out of the SS coils.

I think the ni200 coils are fine. The SS do seem to help some flavors and give a much better taste then the ni200. I dont like the crown ni200 in TC because I get dry hits after the tank is empty, My device will not go to dry coil soon enough using the crown. Yet my mod works fine with a stm and maganus in TC mode.

.

My experience exactly. My only concern is that eventually as things change it may be hard to get the coils, which is the only thing preventing me from buying a third!

I hear you there. As rapidly as the vaping world changes, I am sure something else is going to come along and be the next hottest thing. That will give us crown owners a chance to stock up before the world realizes that the Crown is king and then everyone floods back to the Ole Black Beauty (Black Crown is what I am referring too). With the RBA it at least gives me an option in case I cant get coils for a bit. I am ready to buy my third as well... :)

I heard back from Uwell about my RBA (they have a base in So Cal), and they told me to send it to them - which I did. Hope they send me one back that works!

And by the way - that q-tip trick works beautifully! I opened my last 0.25 coil on Friday, and last night I was getting that slightly burned taste. Ran a q-tip through it, and it's good as new :)
If you go to the living pit of hell (Walmart) they sell a different brand of qtip with a plastic stick. The heads on them are more narrow. They work great

Yes that Q-tip trick works great. I use the ones with the long wooden sticks to clean electronic PCB's with. works wonders..

I was using the q tip cleaning method then discovered the plastic toothpick (comb style) works well for loosening the deposit then back to the qtip to get it out.

There's a new company I think it's called VaporWerxusa that is selling coils for sub ohm tanks..Mike Vapes did a review on the coils says there are pretty good.

nope
those will not fit the crown
only a magnus or starre
the crown is shorter, has less threads and a few other minor differences.
But the cotton and coil are the same
But the may use different gauge wires since the crown coils are actually shorter or more tightly wrapped then the maganus

Crown coils only seem expensive. When you realize how long one coil lasts you begin to u8nderstand that they are cheap when you use cost to puff count. I bought two boxes of crown coils - I have two crown tanks and am still using the ones from the original box after more than a month. I am totally sold on the Crown. And I have no problem with the NI coil at all. I vape it at 430 watts - this to conserve juice and battery life. I could easily vape higher. The joules is largely irrelevant with TC. Once it hits the temperature it pretty much auto sets your joules regardless how you set it. It just ramps up quicker at higher joules. The new aspire pegasus does not even have watts or joules settings in TC - just the temperature.

Having said that the .25 coil is amazing for taste. I don't use them because they drink juice so fast it is frightening. They also don't even begin to shine lower than 70+ watts. So my batteries drain quickly too. I occasionally switch out my NI coils when I really want to sit back and taste a particular juice I'm fond of. Otherwise I stick to the NI which are better than any I've used in other tanks.
