Uwell D2 issues

Okay newbie the Forum looking for some help or opinions, I recently acquired a couple of uwell D2 tanks, great looking tanks unique design with the air flow on top and their claim that it is absolutely leak-proof.
I don't think these are on the market yet but if anybody's using them let me know if you run into any problems with flooding when you try to fill the tank I close the air flow fill the tank, put the cap back on turn the air flow on and get a Massive juice hit. If you turn off the air flow and turn the tank upside down to drain the deck it fills the outside glass chamber with juice. Anybody else have any experience with this thing. When it works it works great needs a little bit more airflow but it does work well

I just got my D2 and have been experimenting with it. Some of the issues are as always trying to find the right build and associated wicking. I can say that it is critical that the wick is pushed thru the wick holes on the deck and that less wick is the key. It is a delicate balance as too little wick and you will get juice in the air chamber.
I do not close the air holes when filling and have had no problems. I have made the mistake of turning it upside down with juice in it and with the air hole open and it will leak into the air chamber and a small amot could leak out the air opening. When used normally I have had zero leaking which compared to my Griffin is night and day. Used the claptons it came with and flavor is solid. The quality of the tank is top notch.

Is the air flow similar to the crown?

I've been looking at this RTA this week and thinking about getting one. I've only seen them for sale at Uwell directly and only in black so far.

Yes, the air flow is similar to the Crown 1, which is my only reference. It's airflow is not as open as my Clieto or Griffin but quite satisfactory to me. I have used it without the outer glass and that increases the airflow. My preference is to keep the glass in place. As you know airflow is subjective. Overall, very pleased with the tank, especially because I have experienced no leaking.

Thanks for the info, Pax. I have a Herakles RTA-2 now and get along well with it. I occasionally get some seepage if I don't remember to go through the correct refill procedure. But, it'd be nice not to have to worry about leaking at all.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I want to add the solution that helped me just now in hopes that others experiencing the same issue as the OP will find this useful.

My wicks were too short and not 'fluffed' enough and as it got more saturated with juice gaps formed that eventually allowed juice to flow through and into the airflow channels. Simple solution- re-wick and ensure there is a decent amount of cotton filling in the gap and also just long enough that it'll fit through the proper holes for the juice to touch.

Possible culprits (solutions consolidated from all above comments/contributions)
1) Replace bottom or top cap seals
2) Ensure air flow is 'closed' by turning counter clockwise while looking from the top of the RTA while filling/refilling juice
3) Double check your wicks are just long enough to cover the juice to wick channels

Hope this helps
