Vandy Vape - Kylin RTA

So I just got this new RTA and built put in (2) Framed Staple coils at .12 ohms. I then wicked it, put it all together and filled the tank with 70% VG juice. Works great, but after about 5 puffs, I notice there is some e juice building up around the tank and the mod. I unscrewed the tank from the mod and cleaned it up. Thought maybe I didn't wick it correctly, or something didn't seal right. So.... rebuilt it all again and still same results. I've watched several build videos and I'm doing it correctly. I also changed the seals and still same results. I am at a loss.

Forgot to mention- This only happens when Im actually taking hits. If I fill it up and let it sit, it does not leak.

The Kylin has a reputation for leaking, that's why I got rid of mine. I have the Reload which IMO is a much better RTA and it doesn't leak.

Anyway they did offer replacements of the deck due to the leaking issues which supposedly fixed the issue, just contact Vandy Vape. I did hear some skuttle butt though from others that it didn't fix the leaking issue but the majority I've heard said it does.

Anyway contact Vandy Vape

Is it too late to send it back to the vendor it came from? Seriously, not trying to be a dick. I've read horrible things on the Kylin. There's about 3 or 4 other threads about the Kylin on the first page of this forum. Hopefully someone can chime in and help ya out but according to some reviews on this board it's a bitch to wick properly.

Might want to give this thread a read. :)

I contacted Vandy Vape, and they admitted to it being faulty and are sending me the updated deck. They told me to put a small o-ring around the 510 pin if I want to use the current one in the mean time. I tried that and so far it seems to be doing well. Thanks for the help everyone.

I do not have one of these but you might want to share a pic of your temp fix to benefit others who may be right behind you with the same questions. Would be amazed how much this might assist someone else.

In the package of extra o-rings there is two small black o-rings. Just take one, and put it on the 510 connection like you see in the picture below. It fixed the leak for me, hopefully it will help others with this problem.

That seems like an odd place for the fix, not at all what I was expecting. Is that just to create a small gap to keep the pin from pushing the insulator up (allowing juice to flow down and out)?

I'm not sure. But it seemed to be leaking from around that area. Before I contacted them, I thought about putting an o-ring there but didn't because I didn't think that would do anything but apparently I was wrong. Somehow it does keep it from leaking.

Did some reading on this and looks like it might have been a press fit issue with the 510 connector. The comments alone on their FB page make it worth reading. An angry consumer is worse than a woman scorned.

Thanks for sharing the pic, you can bet that you helped 5 people on the quest to make this thing stop leaking.

I just put a small rubber seal on mine. I'll wait about 24 hours, and see if it's still leaking. Thanks!

Mine only leaked while I was using it. If I filled it up and set it aside, it never leaks. They sent me a replacement deck and it still leaks. Im done with Vandy Vape. Hopefully this helps with your leaking issue.
