Battery: IMR 18650, 2500 Mah, 35A 3.7 V
MOD: Ameri Vape Apollo
RDA: Haze
Build: dual coil G-Plat 22 gage 6 wraps

I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to get more vapor production and it's producing more than my 22gage kanthal, however, I feel I could get more.

What are some suggestions? Keep in mind, I'm trying to keep it on the safe side.

I have never built with g-plat, but generally the more surface to cotton the more vapor, also try different juices. the higher your vg level the more coulds you will get

How about 5 wrap 24 gauge Kanthal dual coil, japanese organic cotton and a high VG juice. Have this setup on my sons Ragenrock copper mod along with Dark Horse RDA. Works real nice. Just my opinion. Nice Day To Everyone !

If u can handle watching rip trippers watch his cloud chasing PT2 he builds a dual parallel gplat setup that kicks it

I think I'm gonna try a dual parallel with 24 kanthal, I ran out of GPlat and my pockets ain't exactly what I would call "Deep".

I have found that either doing twisted wire or dual parallel coils with a 3mm id tends to help on the cloud production. The lowest I go is about .17 on a mech and .3 on my Hexohm v2. The larger diameter coil with a bit more wick to coil ratio kicks the production up tremendously.

Vaping that as we speak.lol ... Not to sure how to post pictures... Tried last night when I made the original post and they failed..... I run this on a segeli 150 watt FULL power on a darkhorse till my batteries drain to far to light the coils. If you might explain how to post I will post ASAP to show proof

I have been thoroughly enjoying more of the "specialty" coils like the clapton, the fused clapton, the staged heating coil, dragon scale coils, the interlocking chain coil, the caterpillar, the staggered clapton, twisted coils, etc etc. Lately i have been playing with mixes of Kanthal and Nichrome and have discovered some very interesting results. These fancy coils do take considerable effort and time (and skill and patience) but i think the added surface area and nooks and crannies add to the vapor production. I really like anything TwistedMesses does on youtube. Kent is, imo, an absolute artist. I would be glad to post some pics of these coil builds and offer any insights if anyone is interested.
Note... i use high VG juice, Japanese Cotton, and usually build between .13 and .25 (dual) on any of my RDA's and use a regulated box device between 70 and 100 watts.

i have a coil thats producing more clouds than a fog machine. its kinda a hot vape and has very little flavor though. it is a dual 26g parallel coil wrapped 5 times around the allen wrench the darkhorse comes with then with a sliver of cotton through the middle and finally its setting on a cotton cloud. dense thick hot clouds.

Parallel is the way to go. Lower resistance with greater surface area, especially with kanthal which has a pretty high resistance compared to g-plat or nichrome. Hope you find what you're looking for!

I agree but be careful if your using a regulated mod....I killed my istick30 with dual parallel 24g coils.....and I haven't gotten around to building any parallel coils with the new mod ........IMO a single parallel 24g coil is pretty damn productive for me. Live low and prosper.

I have a lotta love for single coil builds, i totally agree! I didn't catch the name of the device, but battery safety/limitations should go without saying haha. Sadly a lotta folks underestimate the joy of a good single coil build!

Single coil in the Mutation X, pretty damn productive i'd say haha

....well I have found when something goes without saying.... It tends to get ignored and is assumed .....my dad and the army beat into my head "never assume anything, it makes an ass out of you and me.". When I first got my RDA I was all about dual coils I think I built 5 sets that first day,but now after I have explored and messed around with coils......I am dead set on single coils.definitely can't beat a huge (like a 15-20 wraps) single coil.more surface area more flavor and vapor production.I love me some huge coils

Got 28g dual parallel 5 wraps each reading .19ohm. Vapin on vape kitchen pinnaple whip 100%vg on the doge v2. Shes a foggin flavor machine but i got some heavy crackin in the first second of ignition might need to rewick and make it a little tighter.

Anything thicker than 26g i do single coil only. Shit drops ohmage like crazy and i dont like thousand wrap builds they take too long to heat up imo.

I get a lot of popping cracking with the parallel I built.I never was able to get it to be quiet no matter what I did.I think it just the nature of the beast.

the heat up time and the cool down time is super long .my huge 19 wrap is Still produceing vapor after I let go of the fire button, but that is my only complaint

Just remember though.......longer coil =longer wick & short coil = short wick

That's why most people end up switching to regulated.

Well that can be a ....um nice reference point, with that being said I find that in a long coil I cut my wick short almost to short where it just kisses the deck.It wicks it really fast I get a dry hit once in a blue moon.but to each there own

I made a 22g dual 6 wrap that came to .12 couple of days ago. Id need a regulated mod that can effectively put out over 100w to do what my mech is doing.

.12 hits at 147w on a fresh charge. Those devices can accurately do this? Its one thing to post that it can do it its another that its true.

I use a few mech mods.

a .3ohm build at 6 volts in a raptor would give you 120watts. There is no comparison for unregulated and low ohm builds to surface area and regulated devices. Hence why they're banned at most cloud comps.

On top of the fact on a mechanical device, you are getting a high wattage on a full charge, and your performance gets worse and worse with every hit. Where as with a regulated device, you will get the same performance until low voltage cut off kicks in.

Low ohms does not always = huge vapor production. Surface area is key. But of course, some people will always build super sub ohm, stress the integrity of their batteries, and be comfortable with their tube mode getting to 120 degrees in their hand.

You could pull 147 watts on a raptor box at 6 volts with a .24 ohm build. You would also get 147 watts every time you hit the button until your batteries are drained.

Did you say 13! How does that fit and also how does it not burn your wick in the middle after a few hits? I might have to try it:rolleyes:

Since i posted here in end of april got a hexohm v2 and yeah its a fog machine. Its nice to build .2 to .3 microcoil with thick gauge with no ramp up.
I dont even turn up potentiometer (sp) all the way, more like half way.
Gotta do triple parallel 3-4 wraps using 26g at .08 on my cherrybomber to do what the hexohm does at .3.
Ive turned to the darkside.
Still enjoying the bomber though.

I'm running .12, although I'm not at 147 right now, I have run it there plenty
