Vapresso revenger battery discharge problem

Got my gf this kit. She’s had 2 different sets of batteries in it. Both of which I use as well without any issues.

The problem is one battery always discharges faster than the other. The mod would not fire due to low battery so I throw them on the charger. One read 3.4v and the other 3.85. The first time one battery was still over 4 volts!

Anyone else have issues with this mod or had this problem on other mods?

My only guess is the dumb clock that’s always in drains one battery.

I don't have the kit but highly doubt the clock is the issue. It doesn't take much battery to power a clock, look at any wristwatch or pc cmos battery, small coin cells that power the clock for years. They're only around 1.5v and much much smaller than an 18650. Even the apple smart watch big 38mm battery is only 205mah and an iphone6's battery is 1810mah. Both much less than the 2500-3000mah single 18650 of which there are two in the revenger.

There may be an issue with any number of things, the batteries themselves, the charger, the mod and how it's handling power delivery internally. Out of all the possibilities the clock really seems to be the least likely imo.

I’ll have to lean towards a faulty mod then. I know the batteries and charger are fine.

Have you tried updating the firmware? Not sure that it addresses a battery problem but it updates the menu system and fixes some other things. Worth a shot.

I’ll try that tomorrow. I haven’t updated a mod since my ipv3 years ago lol

Some people have mentioned the battery meter bars being different but not a huge discrepancy in voltage. Like on my alien, even with both batteries at 4.2v in an external charger one meter appears slightly shorter than the other. During use the individual meters seem to drain a bit at a time, one being shorter than the other then the other drops and catches up. When putting them on the charger after use though they're usually close, 2.97v and 2.99v or similar. Not 2.9v and 3.4v. If an update doesn't work I'd see about replacing it under warranty since you just got it. Sometimes they just suck out of the box regardless of which mod.

Only crappy thing with the clock, there's no internal clock battery or anything. Time has to be reset every time you replace batteries.

I contacted customer support. We’ll see what they say.

Wrt clock, replace one battery at a time and clock won't reset. Clock resets if you remove both batteries altogether.

Vapresso emailed me back. They said to only buy good batteries and have a professional test them. I told them the batteries are fine.

Haven’t done the firmware update yet. Had a long day yesterday.

Not yet. I put some newer batteries in there today. Gonna see what happens. It’s hard for me to believe that two sets of batteries took a crap at the same time.

Yeah seems unlikely. Who did you buy it from?
