The Velocity is really a dual coil setup, you can not block off one side for a single coil build. I have seen some large clapton and fused clapton builds that people said were good single coil. However it is designed to be a dual coil build.

I can already see what your problem is. You're running that build on an under-powered device, so you will never achieve their full potential. I can see you're using the iStick 40TC, and for those coils, you'd need at least a good 60W+ for them to shine. What you might do is take off one of those coils, and reposition the other to run vertically between the two posts. This will bump up the ohms, making better use of your devices power (and longer battery life), stop spitback ( a common problem with horizontal builds), and give amazing airflow to all sides of the coil instead of just one side. Plus with vertical wicking, it allows you to drip right through the chuff without leaking out the AFC

Ive done plenty of Single Coils in the Velocity, the key is you need something big that take up alot of the chamber if your using a side and something low and hot if your doing a center coil build.
Single Side Builds:

20151210_100224-jpg.35365
20151130_101218-jpg.34788

Center Coil Build:

20151217_184454-jpg.35929

Typically with the Center Coil you would be shooting for Series or Higher Watt ages to make up for the chamber space, the Velocity has alot of chamber space and unless the airflow is shut down almost completely closed a single coil build isnt what you want for it. I recommend a Dual Parallel 22g or 24g Center Coil or 22g Twisted Staged with 22g for a side coil if your building skills are limited. Try and shoot for .2-.3 Ohms for a side build and .5-.8 for a center build.

Awesome thanks for that picsand what is that yellow green wick

No problem, they all worked really well too.
The wick was Organic Japanese Cotton (MUJI) but the juice I had on it was really rich (MILK by GLAS), so it changed the color under the lighting conditions. They make amazing juice, nice aesthetics to their bottle design, would highly recommend trying it if you get the chance

Performance wise does doing the slanted build work better than the verts? Mine comes in tomorrow so I'm pretty stoked to gets some big builds done in it, also a twisted messes

It would be better if you make them slightly off center and angled, make it so when you have the airflow (cyclonic) open it hits most of the coil closest to it and then across and touch the back of the opposite coil. This is what I did for my Aromamizer...

When wicking it pull it down through the coil and make it so it touches the deck and folds a tiny bit, then use tome tweezers or w/e and fluff it as much as possible. Then for the top you can either cut it off around 6-7mm like a haircut and fluff it or make it droop and touch the deck-and fluff it....just make sure t leave a nice gap all the way around the coil

You get a lot thicker vapor off of claptons, I prefer fused claptons. Or you can go to a larger wire like 20 or 22 ga. I personally only go as low as 22, 20 is a PITA to work with IMO.

How many wraps for 22g? I tried dual parallel 24g 5wraps but im kinda nervous about it @ 0.10 ohms reading on my rx200. Because i read mod that explodes.I'm using 3 married batteries .AWT imr 3.7v

I don't understand why you would want a single build on a velocity. What's the advantage? I use 32/26 dual Clapton with 5 wraps. Comes in around .4. Lots of cloud, lots of taste. Like trying new stuff though, searching for the perfect vape.
