Vendors that spam in PM

Vendors that spam you PM are no better than telemarketers that interrupt your life claiming to be the IRS or trying to sell you overpriced crap you don’t need

Please feel free to report PM spam or even better, add a moderator to the conversation to help us stamp out this scuzzy practice

This is especially true if you get a PM with an unsolicited pitch for vape gear

Just go to forumspam website and report their IPs

Sadly, that only works after it has already occurred - the problems are usually with new members who have not yet registered or very new unlisted vendors

There has been an uptick in these spammy type PMs and we want members to know how to handle them and know that we are on it in trying to keep spam out of the forum, especially in PM

We can't do anything about PM spam if we don't know about it

I have been added to 15 to 20 member PM's by a spammer trying to sell a product a couple times already.

It is abuse of the PM system for a vendor to just randomly spam market people.
I figure if some are dumb enough to add a mod to the group PM then possibly some are smart enough to leave staff out of the group PM.

If it does happen to you by all means feel free to add a mod or two to the PM so we can take care of them.

I think it may be rare.
I hope it's very rare.

The first one who did it is no longer a member.
We even gave them a chance after catching them trying to use the PM system as a personal marketing tool.
The very next day they did something stupid again

No staff member can read PM's (they are really private) so the only way we'd know is if we were part of the vendor spam PM or if a member lets us know.

Since it did happen to us we figured we'd ask to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

I have gotten solicitations for reviews before.
those are perfectly fine since you are being offered something for free to review.
