Of all the Marvel NOW! announcements, the news that teenage genius and African-American MIT student Riri Williams will be the new Iron Man was by far the biggest. Riri taking over as the lead of Invincible Iron Man is a big step forward for more diversity at Marvel Comics and another instance of passing an iconic mantle in the Marvel Universe, which is practically a time-honored superhero tradition.
