That's jogged my mind. If you're saying only the 1st wrap is untidy what you should do is wrap an extra one when wrapping the coil, then just pull the first wrap out by leaving the coil on whatever you're wrapping it round and pulling on the leg leading to the first wrap with a pair of pliers. The coil will rotate round, pulling that wrap out and leaving you with a nice tight coil :)

Lol. ... duh. .. never thought of that. Then again, I'm also still learning so definitely will take this with me on my next build. .. thanks

Nay bother la. I can't believe it's taken me this far through the post to remember that trick. I can still have that problem to this day and use that very technique to tidy my shit up haha. Plenty of better builders than myself on here who are willing to pass on good info, all you've gotta do is ask :) good luck on your coil building journey

You using a jig? Here's some image with my jig. ..4mm id, now i do 3.5 . If using a jig, remove coil after you finished your wraps and insert back in the opposite direction to clean up the 1st coil... make sense?

I have half a jig lol. I am missing the top piece that winds it around. So I do it by hand. I ordered the coil master v4 last night so hopefully it comes soon. It takes me a really long time to make one coil because I want it perfect....no need to go fast, slow and steady wins the race with these.

I've found getting off alot of things challenging but cigarettes is actually hands down is the hardest an I'm still trying to quit as we speak.
But yeah... the mimicry thing you said makes sense. My friend is using an endura T18 an has quit straight away but I see a friend using an alien whose still tying to quit. I let him try a Kayfun an he said "this is just what I've been searching for"
I told him not to listen to a shop who are just trying to sell their most popular expensive kit!!

Yeah and also, they want to sell hardware that will use up the most ejuice, so they can sell more and more of that! I'm real happy using just 5ml per day!

Here is what I have. It's like a coil master kit but just a different brand. I added a normal pair of scissors and a better pair of ceramic tweezers

Well then we both winners. ... lol. Here's my swivel set up practicing claptins

I use that same drill for straightening wire, and it's corded cousin for Claptons, aliens, etc.

Here's a quick video of my redundant swivel setup. It shows how only the first swivel spins, and the secondary swivel and SpinLT remain stationary as backups. One of these days I'll remember to hold my phone sideways for a video...

youre already there arent you? i seem to recall giving you an internet high-five at some point...if not, get in there and post your stuff. ill give you internet high-fives until my hand falls off. we have a lot of great builders in there now who stick around help/encourage anyone willing to accept the help and put in the time

i have to get up and do a worthy build too...i have been so busy i am barely able to do maintenance builds to keep my daily setups going. i havnt tried anything new or pushed myself at all in a couple months now :(

Getting a bit better! Still kinda rough where I start making it. Have to work on that.

Put a couple/few extra wraps onto the coil then after back them off and you won't have that nasty end like in the pic.
Airflow became a problem for with protanks and also somewhat with the kayfuns. I was enjoying building lower ohm but they just didn't cut it. Subtank mini is my atty for all round building pleasure, Merlin also but seeping is a pain but I can live with it to have a nice quality vape.

EDIT.. this Mojito induced putz didn't read the 2nd page so my removing wraps is already old news...

I never rebuilt a protank but that subtank mini is so great isn't it?? :)

Best advice anyone can give is you've got to start somewhere. Start wrapping straight coils, before ya know it you'll be making your own wire. It really is quite easy to pick up, fair bit harder to put back down though lol

Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

This. I started with straight wire a year ago, then I went to sleeper coils (that's wrapping 2 coils with a single strand of wire) then I went to my favorites, fused claptons. I'm trying to wrap aliens, but those are proving to be a real bear to wrap properly.

They're a PITA to learn, and you'll invest a good amount of wire into the learning process - most of which can only be learned by doing. But eventually you will have that "A-HA!" moment when everything comes together just right, and they start to get much easier after that.

This is a fused clapton coil, in case you're curious. It's basically 2 straight wire coils put together and "fused" together with much smaller wire to create more surface area for your juice.
