VF Stout question

I just got this yesterday and when it works, it works well, but here's the problem (several actually):

Whenever the mod goes to sleep it seems to reset itself to a 0ºC TC tolerance. I say this because pressing the fire button results in it waking up with everything initially displaying as 0 and quickly the temp warning. The warning disappears after a second and the screen comes back with the temp and wattage no long 0, but the resistance is 0. This is where it gets really wonky. About 75% of the time it will agree with all other mods and detect the Ni coil at 0.21Ω. But sometimes it will detect higher, up to 0.24Ω. And once it detected at 0.27-0.29Ω and burnt the heck out of the coil WITHOUT the TC cut off kicking in. I have it set to 240ºC and 100W (cuts of around 30-40W for temp and it's working well today so far.

So, what, if anything, am I doing wrong?
If there any way to lock the resistance? Lock/unlock doesn't work for resistance.
Is there anyway to turn of the start-up delay, or at least extend the sleep timer?

That definitely did the trick with turning it off and on again... now to see what happens when it sleeps.

If you keep having issues call VF. They have great customer service. I had some issues with mine at first but updating the software fixed the few problems I had.

Well, it fixed the sleeping problem starting up at all 0, except for resistance. That still wakes at 0. Testing sleep now to see if "lock" works to lock the resistance as well, if not, I can deal with it checking the atomizer after waking. But is there any way to extend the sleep timer? I can't seem to find anything.

After update, lock does not lock resistance. One click to wake seems a little bit faster, maybe, but resistance detection is still wonky. 9/10 times now, it detected properly at 0.21Ω, but the remaining 1 time it detected no atomizer, registered 0.00Ω, but fired anyway, burning the crap out of the coil. Looks like something's wrong, I'll have to contact VF.

Definitely call them. Looking through my emails I see the guy I spoke with was Matt Kauffman and he was very helpful. Here's the email address I used [email protected]

Good luck and let us know how it's turns out.

Thanks! His email begins with a dash? Or is that a CnP artifact?

Matt already replied with clarification questions. I'm surprised they got around to me so fast.

Honestly, if it's just a quirk of the device, I'm okay with that, as long as I know about it. Then I can just check before I fire, which is a bit of an annoyance, but minor. But if it's a defect, it worries me a little what the device might do to a tank/coil if it catches unawares midfire.

That's cool to know that they are that good to stand behind their products.
That's the exact battery I use in my Stout.

Absolutely one of the best CS departments in the entire industry. When you call there they have no menu system. An actual live person actually answers the phone. What a concept!

I can count on one hand how many places I've called in the past month where a human actually answered the phone instead of a recording.
I can't count how many of those recording DIDN'T say to press one for English, because ALL of them said that.
Just sayin.....
