Despite the drugs, mob murders, and cop-on-musician violence, Vinyl's Season 1 finale took us out on a somewhat polite note. Aside from Zak and Richie's friendship being irrevocably damaged and changed (which you could say was the case already, even before this episode), Richie and the folks from American Century pretty much landed on their feet as we exited their freshman year.
For a guy who spent the majority of the season angry and out of his mind on drugs, Richie pulled himself together for the big finish. He got Lester to officially sign over his song (and brought him back into the managerial fold), he settled Kip and Alex's beef over Jamie, and even managed to drum up serious buzz for the band's debut gig by calling the cops in himself. All as his sub label, Alibi, launched with unified success. Oh, and as for his deal with the feds to rat out Galasso? No rush on that. His handler doesn't seem to mind waiting. As long as he gets to listen to tales about groupies.
