So, I've decided its time to pick up a DNA200 device. Been looking around at the different ones, and actually found I really like the look of the VTBox200 in Red/Black. Also found the Panzer for about the same price. Now, I have also seen the VTBox200s which appears to be a new version without the side panels, but cannot find any reviews of it. Does anyone have any experience with it? Or should I just go for the Panzer?

Since we're on this topic, I might as well throw in a third choice, VT200. Out of these three, which one would you recommend.

I've had a VT200 for awhile and I really like it. It's a touch thinner than my other DNA200 mods, has a curve/indentation where your fingers wrap around it - just feels good in hand and works great as well. It can be had for just a couple cents under $120 shipped from Ecig.com (with a coupon) and VapeNW without a coupon (both in the USA).

Cheers,
Steve

Ok, now back to what I was asking... Personally both the VT Box200 and the Panzer appeal to me in design. My question is if the VT Box200 is reliable. I can get either one for about $105 shipped, so I figured I would ask.

I have a VT200. Great mod, fit and finish are real nice but the battery life is horrible. Truth be told, I haven't touched it since I bought my Reuleauxs.

The VT200 and VT Box200 are 2 different devices. I am asking about the VT Box200 by Vape Cige. Not the VT200 by HCigar

The VTBox200 is a good solid enclosure for the most part. I have one of the early releases that had a glued in 510 but they've since resolved that from what I read, other than that I cant really complain about the enclosure or build quality. The advertised battery is really closer to a 1300mah though so keep that in mind.

Unfortunately for me the board was not so good. I knew going in the DNA200's were failing left and right but I thought I lucked out and got a good one after it lasted a month, I was wrong and it's now dead after about 4-5 months partial use, sent in for RMA and waiting to be resurrected and returned. So another $12 expense in shipping to my original $120 purchase price has really put this device on my worst purchase list. On reliability I don' think any DNA devices are more or less reliable than any others they all seem to have about the same failure rate. You may consider more about size, run time, charge rate, battery capacity and how difficult they will be to get warranty replacement or cost of shipping, time without etc.. if it fails. Evolv is repairing my device directly and that's great of them but to be honest I much prefer to have a reliable device that doesn't need RMA service to begin with.

I have 4 DNA200's. I've never had a single problem. If I had a SX Mini that failed, should I then say they are terrible because I got a bad 1? Most of the early DNA200 failures were do to 3rd parties improper installation/handeling of the chip imo. Also, you will hear of more failures if more chips are in circulation. If there are 10 times as many out there, You could have 10 times the amount of failures and the failure rate would still be the same! I would really love to see some actual statistics showing failure rates between the different chips.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit The one thing I do agree with Vlad on is, if you are unfortunate enough to encounter a problem, Evolv stands behind the chip for 1 full year and they are in the USA. I've heard of them replacing chips even if it wasn't the chips fault (faulty installation, etc). Really a great company to deal with.

I'm glad you've been fortunate to not have any problems. But you could come to your own conclusions if you had a failure. My statements were not based on my sole experience but the steady stream of failures that are reported daily on the DNA 200 devices, in addition to my personal experience. If you wanted to compare a companies products Evolv probably has about 10% of the market in comparison to all the devices out with Yihi and other boards in them. If I seen a steady stream of reported failures from any of them I'd feel and state the same about them.

Most of the early DNA200 failures were do to 3rd parties improper installation/handeling of the chip imo
There may have been some failures caused by the makers, but it also seems some makers were in contact with Evolv and they were aware of the problems. Perhaps why I've read of some possible hardware changes to later boards so not sure I'd attribute most failures to the makers. And certainly cant blame the maker for my failure after 4-5 months use.

I would as well. Wonder what the fail rate is in comparison for CMT or Boxer between the DNA200 & SX350J boards. Being the same device makers that utilize both boards they surely have a large enough sampling for good comparison.

If I were between those two I would go with the vt200. they have made some changes for the better with the more recent devices.
However
I would consider if the battery life would fit your needs. If you vape in the 80-100w range you're going to want to be able to plug up at some point during the day to top off. If that's not a possibility I would look at something with a 2a rapid charger like the vaporshark, or the jaybo dna200 with the three 18650s, or something with 1500mah 3s lipo batteries or more. I can't speak highly enough about the performance of the DNA platform, they just came out with a new update the other day and these things just get Better and Better

I was going to go with the Vape Cige VTBox200S, but as I could not find ANY reviews on it, and because the original VTBox200 had so many known issues like an overstated battery, and the 510 issues, I ended up choosing the Think Vape Panzer box. From what I've seen in the reviews it has an actual 1500 mah 3s lipo, where as the Vape Cige box was rated at 1800 but had more like 1300. Charging is not an issue as I have multiple 1+amp chargers to use.

You're limited by the onboard charger though; both your plug and the one on the unit; have to be Xamp to get that Xamperage. The Vsdna has a 2A charger but if I use my phone charger I'm only getting 0.5A you see what I mean?

I haven't seen a review on the panzer, I think Grimm mentioned it once and seems to like it, and vapin Fagan did a review on the first attempt at the vapecige which was complete garbage, he tore the company a new one in his review. They redid it and now they are said to be pretty good.

I don't have any of those so I'm repeating what I've heard, so take it as you will.
I've used the vt200; a lostvape and a litt4 also I own a pair of sharks and a cloudmaker, anything else wont be firsthand information.
