Want to replicate Velvet Vapors' Organic French Vanilla

Howdy folks!

This is my first post and I hope I'm posting in the right area. I have recently found out that my favorite vaping store has closed and would like to find out if anyone knows where Velvet Vapors acquired their organic French Vanilla flavoring from. This was my everyday vape and I have not been able to find a French Vanilla flavoring like theirs. I would like to try and make my own if I could just find out where they got their flavoring from.

Any help would be appreciated!

I see you haven't got a response yet so I'll try to help. Personally, I think Inawera shisha vanilla is the best (it's also strong so a little goes a long way) Looking through some old threads about velvet vapors it seems most people said their liquids were not very good... are you sure it wasn't velvet clouds vapors?
Anyway, best I can do is ask for more details about the juice you liked. Would you call it a "dark" or a "bright" vanilla? Is it creamy or "rich" like a custard? Might was well start from scratch and try to make a clone recipe. I recommend BCF (Bull City Flavors) for ordering flavor concentrates.
P.S. don't even consider using grocery store flavors! They might taste great but can have alcohol and/or oils and not meant for vaping.

Hey VapeOn1960!

Thanks for responding! For a while there, I thought that no one would reply.

Yes, the organic French vanilla is from Velvet Vapors. That was the only flavor that I bought from them and was my all day vape for probably about 8 years. It was a very unique vanilla and it didn't taste anything like all of the other vape shop's French vanillas. Believe me, I've tried many. It was a light and creamy flavor that was more like a sweet custard-like flavor. I really don't know how to describe it, since I have nothing to compare it to, and I mean nothing. It was just really dang tasty.

I recently bought some Nature's Flavors from DIY Vapor Supply and mixed with some "unflavored nicotine your way" from Vaping Zone, but none come close, except for maybe the vanilla custard. Velvet Cloud has a vanilla custard that I'd like to try, but their nic level is so low - I normally vape 18 mg.

Thanks for the Bull City Flavors tip! I will check them out. I did a lot of searching in these threads before I posted, and a lot of people seem to like the Inawera shisha vanilla, so I will try some of that. I was kind of hoping that one of the former employees at VV might be on this forum and would chime in about where they purchased their flavors from.

Thanks again!

Do you mean unflavored e-liquid (VG, PG and nic)? I was going to suggest that to make mixing easier for now. The most decadent rich custard flavor is FA (flavour art) custard premium. It's sooo good but also has a slight butterscotch note (to me anyway)
Keep in mind that different flavors/brands are mixed at different % (could be anything from 1-10%) Also, many need a "steep" (let it "ripen" for a week or so) Welcome to the "rabbit hole" ;)

Thanks for the welcome. I like rabbit holes. ;)

Yes, It's an unflavored mix of VG, PG, and nicotine. I figured that it was probably the easiest way to start out with. I'm trying to avoid diacetyl, if at all possible. Last night, I bought several different types of vanilla/custards at Bull City. Thanks again for the link. The FA custard premium was not one of the ones that I bought, but might try that one out in my next round of flavor purchases. lol This is what I bought.

Most shops add small amounts of other flavors to pick up certain flavor notes when combined with the dominate flavor.
Good chance that no one here has tried Velvet Vapors Organic French Vanilla can you discribe the taste you are gettin from it, and side notes?

Honestly, that's what makes this juice different. There don't appear to be any other flavor notes combined with it. It's a smooth vanilla, kind of like a vanilla cake batter - no caramel or butterscotch notes at all. That's the way I like it.

I searched for a clone recipe and found nothing...
But I did find a pre-made e-liquid that you might try: Juice Head cake batter (sounds like it may be similar) I really like helping people with clone recipes because it also gives me ideas for my own recipes (and I don't give up easily) but this time was a bust.

Here's a trick you can try. Go to ELR https://e-liquid-recipes.com/ and create an account, it's free BTW. Input your flavors to your flavor stash. Then you can click what can I make. It will pop up recipes that only use your flavors. Who knows you may come up with something that scratches your itch.

Hi there Lo Lo. Welcome to the VU forum.

I read a while back that Velvet Vapors was having trouble with the PMTA process. My vape journey began with many of their excellent flavors, including hot cinnamon (I forget what they called it), the milder cinnamon toast, their Bear Claw, their caramel and yes, their vanilla. At that time, when vape sellers always sent a few free samples with your order, I tried so many flavors from so many sellers, I felt Velvet Vapors had the best flavors in the world. I stopped buying their stuff when I settled on clove as my all day vape flavor. That bit of spiciness doesn't really have to be any more specific than that, so I shifted away from Velvet.

They made their own flavorings, or had them made for their label, so you might never find that flavor you love, but you will find another. My advice is to keep trying vanilla wherever you can get it, until you find what you love.

Best of luck to you.

I forgot to ask... what devices do you use? Drop-in coils or build your own? It has to do with doing SFTs (single flavor tests) A simple RDA is great for this (single coil) I often make small 10 ml batches with new flavors, try one in the RDA, remove the wick (cotton), rewick and test the next one. I got lazy and skipped this step once... made a recipe that included 2 new flavors. It had an off taste I didn't like so ended up doing SFTs anyway to find the offending flavor. If you don't have a RDA, I have tips on doing this with tanks that use drop-in coils (you need a blunt needle syringe)

Thanks the suggestion! I will check Juice Head out.

I really appreciate your determination in searching for a clone recipe! You sound a lot like me. Sometimes I just don't know when to quit though. lol

Hi Bliss Doubt!

Thanks for the welcome! I appreciate that!

I had heard something about the owner having health issues and then they moved at some point last year. Not sure what happened after that. I know that she used to post on the e-cigarette-forum, but that's been several years ago. I think that I last ordered from them in June of last year. I always ordered about 4 of their largest bottles, so that held me over until about December. I tried to place an order on their site and it wouldn't let me enter my credit card info, so I went to Yelp and people were complaining that their orders weren't getting filled. Then the website went down not long after that. I was hoping that she would eventually open up shop again in another state.

I tried some of their other flavors, but didn't like them. Their Menthol Ice was good, but the organic French Vanilla was the best. I've got a mix that I made with two different French vanillas, and It's not too bad. Not great, but it's growing on me.

Thanks for the response. :D

Thanks! I've been to their site before, but didn't know that it created recipes for you. Sweet!
What it will show is recipes that others have made. I wasn't clear in my words. But still, it will only show recipes (that others have made) that you can make with what you have. If any that show up have a 5 star rating, that would be the first to try.

Don't laugh, but I use an older Kanger Pro tank with the Kanger SOCC replacement coils. I like that style because it fits well in my purse - not too bulky.

It's still better than what I got, which is nothing. lol Thanks for clarifying that.
