Same for me, I dont smoke.
However I'm businessmen, sometimes or most of the times people talk a lot while smoking.
It's weird to join them if you dont smoke.
Vape could be helpful to avoid that situation

Well... to be totally honest, we don't know exactly the long term effects of vaping….

We don't know the long term effects of living! Everything we do is risk. And most everything is potentially toxic.

Vaping like the preponderance of things we do is importantly a social activity. Social interaction is indispensable to form the essential bonds and relationships conducive to human survival.

If vaping benefits us as a species for the synergy we gain in community, can it the be said that to discourage or suppress it is anti-social?

Why then marginalize the practice of vaping when merely an expression of normal human instinct?

Perhaps we should question those urging us to hide in the corners. The burrow is a poor means of survival.

Good luck. :)

So this thread is still getting posts, so I will restate a few main factors. 1 vaping is not smoking. 2 People have their own reason to vape, whether is it to cut tobacco usage or quit, or social recreational reasons. 3 Nicotine is an addictive drug but you do not need nicotine to vape. 4 IF you have a condition that would benefit from using nicotine YOUR DOCTOR WILL PRESCRIBE IT FOR YOU, don't self medicate because you see people making claims on a web forum.

That said, if you want to try vaping for whatever reason, if you never smoked, go with 0mg nicotine ejuice and I would suggest higher VG (20/80) to prevent sore throat.

If you want to vape to reduce the amount of tobacco used...(See.. I did not say to "quit smoking" per Health Canada.. lol... ) then ask at local vape shop or forums (here) for the nicotine level to start with based on how many packs you smoke a day and the vape gear you are using.

One reason I like this forum is older posts get added to as more people search and new information is found. Maybe the OP was trolling, but the fact is there are non-smokers interested in vaping. Maybe they like hanging with friends blowing rings or chucking clouds. Maybe they just want a pass time or something to replace snacking between meals. The reason isn't important, but keeping the info current is. Personally I hate searching a forum and finding posts 5 years old and having to sort through 100 hits. I would rather just go to the last post in 1 or 2 threads.

I VAPE BECAUSE I WANT TO BE COOL!

So i have been wanting to try vaping for a while now but i am a non smoker. I dont know, i have always just liked the sound of it all the options you get. I would like to try it but i don't know if i should. If i do end up trying it i would like to know what i should start with and how often i would need to replace things on it.
Vaping for fun.

I just started vaping and I was not a regular cigarette smoker. I personally stick to a low nicotine I use a 3mg. At the end of the day its your body and you should do what you want.

Seconded.

If you want to try it, try it. You're (presumably) an adult who can make their own decision.

I got into vaping from never had been a smoker. My wife wanted to try it as a smoking cessation aide and I tried it with her. I enjoyed it, so here I am. I stick to sub-ohm @ 3mg. Tried higher, but I did not enjoy it. It's helped with my ADD and constant eating, so there is a plus.

Do some research, weigh your options, make up your own mind.

Also, I would make sure to start low. Most beginner kits are sub-ohm and 3mg (or lower) is really all you want to start with.

Go any higher and you'll probably get the dreaded nicotine pukes.

I've never smoked before and I enjoy vaping for several reasons.

1) I tend to fidget a lot, so it gives me something to do
2) I like the flavors and it prevents me from eating sweets
3) Blowing clouds is just fun!
4) I like collecting various mods/tanks/etc and trying them all out. It's more of a hobby now
5) There's something relaxing and soothing about building coils

I usually only vape a 3mg and I've been doing it for years now. I've very healthy, never had any health problems, hell I never even get sick.

The OP has 1 post from 2 years ago so I guess they decided against vaping.

Why would you risk the side effects when your not a non smoker? Whatever floats your boat I guess. I vape because I need the nicotine.

As much as I understand your point of view there are many points of view I can understand. Vaping unlike smoking seems open to multiple points of view. I.E. Someone might vape without any nicotine at all. Yeah, I know such blasphemy, our world ends. ;) :) I vape using 1.8 mg nicotine per ml but that's for me.

Vaping as pointed out, might help calm a person. I know it does that for me. Granted yes I use nicotine but the calming effects is not all about that for me. I often recall my grandfather when I build coils. He used to teach me some basic fly tying. He had faith and confidence in me, enough so I could really botch up and he didn't get mad. I kind of lacked that from any other male role model growing up. So it's fond memories and a deeper understanding of life for me.

Like I said, understand your point and yes I too vape for nicotine. Vaping though is not simply a means to sate a fiend, it is a hobby and bit of meditation, at least imho.

I understand that this thread has been put to bed, but I read it this morning, and I have been thinking all day about the advice I would give to anyone asking me the same question as the OP.
I have come to the conclusion, that I would tell the OP everything I know about vaping. I would steer them them towards somebody who knows the best starter equipment, as in mod, kit etc. I would then tell them everything I know about juices.
I would suggest, that nicotine wouldn't be needed if they had never smoked.
It would be an unnecessary cost. The jury is still not in about nicotine being addictive.
I was a smoker for thirty odd years. Not one device containing nicotine, such as gum, patches, etc worked for me.
I quit smoking tobacco when I started vaping, back when it first came out, and I got the gear in the mail from China.
I wish I had a choice between cigarettes or vaping when I started.
People are free to choose, for now, in this somewhat precious world we seem to have today.
I may also suggest that they don't draw it into their lungs.
My husband turned to vaping the same time as me. He has been a smoker for thirty years and never did the draw back.
He vapes and doesn't draw back. WTF is that about lol? But, you might be safer if you don't draw into your lungs?
I was a die hard smoker. Vaping set me free.
It's not all about quitting an addiction. It is also about helping somebody making a safer choice, as their freedom of choice allows.

Strictly speaking..you don't actually have to draw vapor into your lungs. Nicotine is absorbed in the mouth, throat, airway as well. So sucking vapor into his mouth, holding for a second or two and then popping some vapor rings would work just as well as a full inhale.

I vape because i'm a diabetic and i get to vape all sorts of flavors and not raise my blood sugar. and it keeps me from eating.. Also think i lost a lil weight when i was vaping every day most of the day.. Will see again as just started back cause my woman needs to vape some.
Not sure the OP is still reading these as older thread but i got the same answers as you did when i asked about vaping having never smoked. it turned in to a big hobby for me and i made a ton of new friends from vape shows and such.

Yep, you nailed it. It's more about bonding than anything nicotine. Altho sharing french fries and beer can go a long way.

Good luck and great 4th all. :)

Vaping…is importantly a social activity.
