A few years ago, there was a boxer that was beaten badly, horribly abused and injured, and tied to a chain link fence. When someone came near it to save it, it started wagging it's tail. Even after all the abuse it had suffered, it still loved and trusted. Heartbreaking. But it did get rescued, fixed up and adopted into a good home.

Yep, most times that is the case, totally forgiving, things I have seen just break my heart, and I can't imagine the agony they have been through. Gods creatures, all of them
