super cute, guarding her toy.
LOL, but yes , she is a guardian breed. She guards me like no other I have ever had. Even my first Kuvasz, Lightning, was not as protective as this girl is. She is sitting at the doorway to my den which is at the end of a long hallway. Even when my husband comes around the corner and starts to come down the hall, she will jump up and let out a growl, until she sees it is him of course. The hallway gets a bit dark in the evening. Elsa is my companion, my guardian and my best best friend. I trust my dogs more than I do people! lol

I was fortunate with Emma and Duke. When in the kitchen cooking and I'd spell something on the floor (yes, lol, it happened quite often) they wouldn't run in there to lick it up and eat it. They waited till I motioned them in there. They were such good doggies :inlove:
The cats are totally totally the opposite!

I seen this today, good story, and wanted to share

What started as a joyful celebration of our dog’s fourth birthday turned into a day we’ll never forget. During a peaceful walk, our brave pup faced a hidden danger—a rattlesnake ready to strike. In a split second, he leaped in front of us, taking the bite meant for his humans. We rushed him to the vet, hearts racing, fearing the worst. But our little hero fought with incredible strength and courage. Thanks to quick care and his resilient spirit, he began to recover. His birthday will forever remind us of his loyalty, bravery, and the deep bond we share.

Many struggle to provide basic veterinary care for our beloved pets. Without affordable services, we cannot maintain recommended vaccinations, perform necessary dentals, nor cover essential spay-neuter procedures for our companions. This situation leads to the suffering of countless pets and places unfathomable emotional strain on families. Additionally, the high costs often result in pets being turned in to shelters, or worse, euthanized.

Unfortunately, this narrative is far from unique. It underscores a larger issue affecting low-income families across the country. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, financial constraints were the primary factor behind 1 in 4 dog and cat owners not taking their pets to the vet in 2017. This lack of preventive care can lead to severe health problems for pets, which then requires more expensive treatments, thereby perpetuating a vicious cycle of inaccessibility and high costs.

Our solution is clear: We need a commitment from our national and local policymakers to regulate and cap the price of veterinary services. They must explore options such as subsidized vet practices and insurance plans targeted at low-income families. Such measures will not only safeguard the health of countless pets but also ease the emotional and financial strain on countless families.

If you believe in a future where no pet suffers due to financial constraints and no family has to part with their beloved companion due to high vet costs, we urge you to add your name to this cause. Let’s ensure that pets and families, regardless of income, are given the chance they deserve. Will you stand with us? Please sign the petition.

It would be more representative if the dog pound had 99% pit bulls. It's such a shame they got such a bad rap due to a few incidents.
My pittie Bubba always liked to jet out the door when someone was coming in or going out. One time I didn't find him and dog catchers got him. I had to go to court in-order to get him. I was very fortunate the judge let him out of doggie jail. The judge said " Bubba was such a good dog, he didn't cause any problems and didn't try to bite anyone. So, im letting you have him with only a $50.00 fine" I was so very happy I got him back. They do get such a bad rap! My moms little ankle biter had bitten me more times than this big gentle giant loveable Pit.
There were two times he tried biting. Once was when someone reached into my vehicle that shouldn't have and the guy deserved being bitten. The other time, I loaned a guy some money, it had been well past three months, guy shows up, I let him in, and Bubba didn't like him, good reason for this is he didn't pay me back. Bubba sensed something and launched at him, I don't know how, but somehow I stopped him before Bubba got his teeth into him. The guy never came around again and never received my money he owed me. Other then those two times, he only would bite when we were playing! He was such a very good doggie!!!
