Support Dog Meat Ban

Humane World for Animals urges you to add your name to a petition for South Korea's dog meat ban and a more compassionate Bok Nal season, highlighting the need to act now before the ban doesn't take effect until 2027.

Note

  • Add your name to the petition against dog meat ban. here

Right now, the Bok Nal season in South Korea—a time in July and August that spans the hottest days of the year—is underway. During Bok Nal, consumption of dog meat soup increases because it is believed to cool the blood against the heat. Hundreds of thousands of dogs are intensively bred, killed and then sold for their meat in South Korea, with the majority of them killed for Bok Nal.

Please add your name to our petition to show support for South Korea's dog meat ban, a dog meat-free future and a better life for all dogs, everywhere.

Last year, South Korea’s National Assembly passed into law a ban on the dog meat industry. But this monumental decision doesn’t come into effect until 2027. This Bok Nal, we're joining compassionate citizens and dog lovers in South Korea and across the globe to support the ban on dog meat and to show that Bok Nal can be celebrated without cruelty. That’s why we need your help to keep the momentum up. Can animals count on you?

Show your support for a better life for dogs in South Korea by adding your name today.

So, I have taken in 3 more strays that were wandering around on our property. Took me a few months before they trusted me enough so I could start giving them the care they so desperately needed. One little girl had a gunshot wound in her leg. We are still in process of it hopefully healing. We are on our second round of antibiotics. Me and my Vet are doing everything we can to try and help save her leg. It is possible we may have to amputate it. Only time will tell. The other 2 are starting to do much better as far as their skin condition and weight. Ana the smallest of the 3 still has her cone of shame on as we had her spayed. Roger the boy is the one that is the most scared. I can tell they were all hit/abused. It will just take time.
This is what my den looks like now. lol so add the pups to the 4 rescue kitties we have and that makes a total of 9 in the house now. 8 of them rescues and then my heart girl Elsa :) Boy, this is a lot of work, but so worth it. We have sent off the 3 Embark kits. It will be fun to see what breeds they are (all mixed I am sure)
I can't turn away the unloved and unwanted.

Up top, left to right. Elsa ( my heart girl ) Then Roger.
Down below, left to right. We have Ana (the smallest little girl) Then Cassie ( who has the gunshot wound in her leg ) And finally, Major. Embark says Major is 98.3% German Shepherd. The other small percent left, They believe is Alaskan Malamute and or Akita. Elsa i didn't have to Embark as she is Kuvasz through and through. I will update once I get the Embark results for the other 3 fur-babies.

I hope everyone has a great week. Hug your fur-kids for me.
