Weird Thing Happening With Taste

So, I'm new-ish to vaping. I went back to smoking for about a year and have come back to vaping. So, I went to the local vape shop to get some juice to get back in the groove of things and picked up this flavor that tasted just like apple pie in the store. Then I got home, cleaned out my old tank and stuff and popped a new coil in it. It tasted just as great as it did in the store for a little while, but less than halfway done with the tank, I stopped being able to tasted the apple pie flavor and it just tastes sweet. Any ideas what's going on? Never had that happen before. Thanks!

This sounds like what's going on, but it happened after less than a day. Does that happen? In the article, they reference things like "vaping blueberry every day for 6 months".

It can happen within a short period of time, or even longer than 6 months. Ideally, you have 3-4 different liquids that you switch during the day. Another important thing is to drink lots of water. Vaping dehydrates you, which can also cause the loss of flavor.

Like posted before.. Try smelling freshly ground coffee.. It will shock your senses and possibly reactivate your tastebuds. Sounds weird, but that's why they have them when you're testing scents and such. I also used a menthol or winter green flavor to shock my tastebuds back when I had vapers tongue that lasted weeks.

@iSubOhm is correct about the coffee thing, with a caveat. If your sense of smell is shot then it won't work.
The taste and smell aspect of vaping is huge, more that smoking. Smoking kills the sense of smell while vaping kicks it up a notch.

If the coffee does not do it, rinse your mouth out with mouth wash, drink more water and try one of those diabetic mouth moisturizers.

If still no, lemon and pickle juice or insanity inducing hot peppers.

Thanks for the recommendations. I woke up this morning with my whole head stopped up with some kind of cold/sinus infection/plague. Not sure how much sniffing I can do right now, but I'll try it out. Appreciate all the help!

A cold or sickness can also affect it on a large scale. Drink those emergen-c's! Hope you start feeling better soon & your sense of taste comes back. Give the recommendations a try when you are up for it. And if it doesn't work just keep up a couple like drinking water and using a tongue scrubber. Sometimes it just takes time to pass.. Mine lasted for close to a month

The onset of a cold is most likely what it is. I can't taste anything but a menthol vape (which I hate) when I have a cold.

Edit... delayed post I guess lol.

well if you have been smoking cigarettes for the past year and just went back to vaping,....that could have something to do with all you symptoms.

Many people get a cold type thing when they switch
and your taste buds are all messed up from cigarettes at the same time.

my 2 cents
have more then one flavor to work with. and alternate between the 2 flavors.

Ive been vaping for 6 years
my ADV is a peach mango flavor. I can go form tasting it one pull to not tasting it the next because im so used to it. 10k ml of the same flavor over 6 years makes you dull to it. SO i have 3 mods with tanks around me at all time. each with a different flavor. If i cant taste one...i grab another and then i can taste something.
Apple can also be a delicate flavor that you can get used to real quickly

also be sure your shaking the hell out of the bottle before refilling. This mixes the flavor in more evenly throughout the juice.,

I also notice this happens faster with some flavors than others. Generally anything savory flavors will get this very vast while sharper flavors last longer.
