Yeah surprisingly. I had about 6 inches or so and said ah what the hell I will try it and it seems to have more flavor than the stock coil plus since its ribbon it doesn't get as hot as fast as kanthal so I feel like it reduces dry hits.
Ribbon wire is not fun to work with. It's very limber however this one is 5 wraps 2.4 mm and is 1 ohm. The next time I do it I will use a 2mm and maybe do 4 wraps just to get it lower. Compressing it is tuff and you will probably make it overlap like I did :-/
If you have any more left you could try twisting it by its self to see if you can make it into a more traditional shape?, and you can also see if it still holds some of the same properties as when it's flat.
Yeah, not sure what I am going to do. I will play more when I get to the shop today. I am just wanting more flavor than you normally get from the sub tank. But you can't use 24g or lower so it makes for some creativity and since ribbon is good for flavor and also thin I am thinking that it will be a good start.
I get ya. I'm going to have to buy some to play around with now.
So how is ribbon wire rated? I'm assuming it doesn't go by Guage since it's not a round wire
