Juice will oxidize and darken when exposed to air, some of the ingredients will evaporate changing the taste and appearance and coil gunk will affect the appearance of the juice and wicks. It's normal.

The discoloration is from a few things.

1. Oxidization
2. Sweeteners / Metals
3. Leftover Juice
  • As juice oxidized, it will darken in color.
  • Sweeteners react to the air and metal, and "caramelize".
  • As you vape, the walls of the RDA cap will become saturated with juice. Any part of the cotton that comes into contact with the RDA cap will absorb the leftover juice off the walls.
All of these things add up and contribute to cotton discoloration. It's nothing to worry about and is perfectly safe to vape. (Cotton discoloration is the lead cause of re-wicking with OCD people lol. I know a few people who wipe out the inside of their caps every few drips to prevent this from happening, although it's very tedious)
