Hey guys. Started vaping back in december. Friend gave me an old mech mod that he had to get me off cigarettes and it worked.

Looking to purchase something else and not quite sure what to get or even what I'm looking for for that matter.

Purchased a cyanogen atty then replaced with a tugboat. Lookin to replace with something else. Thoughts on where to start looking? The local vape shops have so much and I just don't know what I'm looking for.

Amy help would be great

So what's the difference between a box mod and a mech mod? Aside from the obvious shape haha

This could take all day to answer. I would suggest reading as much as you can in the forums. People have already answered ever question you probably have. I would also suggest going on YouTube and checking out the Vaping related videos. There's a channel called Rip Trippers. He has videos on a ton of different Vaping subjects. He covers tanks, rebuildables, box mods, mech mods, coil building, juice steeping, etc. There are allot of other channels that will show up under similar topics.

That's kind of the problem. Box mods can be a hundred different things. Don't get overwhelmed. You've got something that works now. Do a little studying and figure out what you'd like to try next. Then repeat. This rabbit hole is as deep as you want to make it.

The real question here is "What's the difference between a mech mod and a regulated mod?"

Both mechs and regulated mods come in both box and tube form - a regulated device has a computer chip built in to control and fine-tune your vape, regardless of what topper you're using. A mech is just a spring and a firing pin - push the button and it delivers as much power as the battery is capable of putting out.

Mech bonuses: simple, less stuff to break.

Mech cons: dangerous if used with the wrong battery, an under-charged battery, or if you've built a bad coil or one with resistance too low for your battery. Vape gets weaker as your battery's power fades.

Regulated bonuses: safer, won't fire if your batteries can't handle your build or if you've accidentally done something stupid, vape quality stays the same throughout your battery's life. If you're using a dual-battery mod, you get twice the vape time between charges.

Regulated cons: chipset could fail, rendering mod useless. Less street cred with super-sub-ohm cloud chasers, often disqualified from use in "blow a sick cloud, brah" contests.

If you've got the time go to Rip's first videos and work your way to the present. That way you'll better understand the new devices and what they're capable of doing.
