What to do

SO I have a B version of the Smok Alien with a dead screen can't flash firmware since Im getting the "no such USB device" error. I'm using my old cuboid for now but it's getting tired, lots of missfire. I loved the Alien it was perfect but now after getting that issue after 33 days of ownership I'm kind of turned off by Smok. I'm looking into the Smoant Battlestar, the Wismec RX2/3, a new Cuboid or wait for the Wismec Predator. What I want is a small mod, really liked the feel of the alien in my hand, dual batt, I usually use temp control but lately been enjoying the baby beast in power. Any other suggestion will be welcomed.

Hi @GOTFrog and welcome to the forums.

I have the Battlestar, and it is a solid but simple mod. I don't have the RX2/3 yet, but I do have the RX200S which is very similar in most regards. I had the Cuboid, until it was stolen, it was one of my favorites. For me, all of these choices would be sufficient for my vaping needs. Since you are using an original Cuboid, I don't expect that you do anything real crazy with your coils or push the limits of your mod too much, even with the baby beast. As far as temperature control goes, the Battlestar is almost bullet proof, as is pretty much any mod with a Wismec/Joyetech chipset. That said, if you like the performance of the Wismec line, then I would try to hold out until the Predator drops if you can. If not, then I'd definitely go for the 2/3, it allows for the most versatility.

Did you attempt the firmware update with the batteries removed, and holding the fire button down while using the version B upgrade utility?

Alien Upgrade Tool - vB1.0.2

And considering it is the version B, I would be on the phone with Madvapes customer support. They are the partner providing US support for SMOK.

wow that is weird for the past week it's been dead, last night after giving it a last chance it was still dead, nothing would happen when putting in the batteries. Tonight trying to do the upgrade with the batteries in like PhantomOp said to do, it's back to normal. It's almost like it needed time to settle after the upgrade.

Just to clarify --- batteries IN or batteries OUT :: My post I said to try to do the upgrade with the batteries OUT and holding the fire bar.
