Miitomo takes a lot of ideas from Tomodachi Life, but is very far from being similar to the 3DS Mii simulation game. Instead, it relies on users answering questions to spur conversations with their friends.
There are three core parts to Miitomo; answering questions and reacting to friends’ answers, customizing your Mii, and decorating and creating images in Miifoto. The life of Miitomo comes through these simple questions.
In the demo, I was asked questions like what was I just doing, and what was my favorite pop culture trend. After answering, I could see who had answered the same questions, which answers I’d already seen, and which I had not. This is the basic flow of Miitomo. Your Mii, or a friend’s Mii, asks you questions that are collected and saved to your profile. You can edit your answers, so you’re not tied to an answer or opinion that could change in the future.
