Keep it simple amd fast here
My end result is to have a 70%vg 30%pg
Juices with 3mg of nicotine
So what base my nicotine should be?
Ive heard tnat most flavours are pg based?

I buy 100mg 50/50 nic then cut it into 48 and use that to scale. A rouge drop or two of the 48nic is more forgiving than the 100nic especially if 3 nic is your target

If you want 30%PG 70%VG exact you should buy PG, VG and nicotine.
If you want to be close to that values but don't need to be exact you should buy 20% PG 80%VG because the flavours, as you said, are usually PG.

Example: you pick 90ml of you 20PG 80VG base and add 10ml of flavours you will have 100ml of liquid which 72ml will be VG and 28ml PG.

I really dont think it matters. I use nic in vg. Squeeze bottles and a scale to measure so no real difference to me.

PG may be a bit easier to work with, but I like higher vg so that is why I chose vg nic. Supposedly pg nic has a longer shelf life. I cannot confirm or deny this.

My only recommendation is to get pg OR vg based, not 50/50 etc. Makes it easier to calculate pg/vg ratio in finished juice (at least in my opinion) without needing a juice calculator.

You usually can buy the 100nic in whatever ratio that is comfortable for you to use. Just don't buy the nic in the vg/pg ratio your wanting to have the finished product in or you will run into problems with the extra PG that is in most all flavorings. I vape 60/40 and my wife vapes 50/50 so buying 50/50 100mg nic IMO was the easiest way to go for my mixing needs. You can buy the nic base in less than 100mg increments but once you have figured it all out in the end you will eventually buy the 100nic and begin to cut it at home rather than have the vendor cut it for you and pay more for less mg of nic. Lots buy their nic in PG since they say it stores better than using a vg/pg blended nic. Just cut the 100nic into smaller bottles and freeze them bringing out a small bottle at a time out of the freezer to use up. I have my liter of 100nic cut into 50ml bottles in the freezer then bring out a 50ml(actually 54g) then mix 100mls of the 48nic I use, that lasts my wife and I a few months and my nic is always fresh, you can say. RESEARCH the nic vendor, some have great nic while others have some very substandard nic, lots of posts about vendors nic quality so do the research and not be disappointed.

For suppliers in Canada check out the DIY in Canada thread that is in the stickies. I mix 30/70 pg/vg at 3 mg and use 100 mg in 100% pg. Unless you are going to use more than 27% flavoring in a recipe the pg based 100 mg nic will work. Not sure if you can get 100 mg in Canada so check out the thread I mentioned.

You can get 100nic in Canada, its the price that is the huge difference compared to US nic. I get my nic in Canada, willing to pay the extra not to have border anxiety of the package being seized. I paid $125.00CAD for my last liter and compare that to being a carton of smokes up here that lasted less than a week vs prolly 2-3 years of vaping for my wife and I. Way too much gray area now in bringing NIC products through customs that I don't bother and pay the extra bucks to nic shop in Canada.

And by "cut" you guys mean to devide the nic bottle inti smaller portions?
As for flavor i have no idea if i will use more than 27% but will see
Thanks again guys

Shouldn't really ever need 27% flavoring. I use between 2% and 20% depending on flavors used. And there is a total of 1 recipe over about 13% I like.

Some people have a pre-made base that they just add flavoring to. For example, you are shooting for 3mg nic so you could make a base of about 4mg strength 80vg/20pg to have around and add it to your flavors to make 3mg 30/70 juice. I am too much of a control freak to do it this way. I like to be spot on and be able to change formulation on the fly so I (and i assume most) mix start to finish with separate vg, pg, nic, flavoring.

Cut can mean portion like you would do cutting your liter into smaller jugs for the freezer. Cut can also mean cutting your 100nic into the ratio of vg/pg you desire. I find cut easier to type rather than separate. ;)

Go with the pg nic base. Then you won't have to worry about hot spots in the VG nic. People always shake the bottle to mix the nic back in. Well that's fucking stupid, because that's just speeding up the oxidation process.

Cut in this circumstance. Usually means divide with or without dilution.

Personally I just buy for example 250 mls of 100mg nic in pg. I break it down into 30ml bottles. And dispense from there. Sure,
Use some caution when mixing and working with 100mg nic...but I like only having add
A couple ml of nic or .466 grams to a mix of my 30 ml bottles resulting in a 1.5mg nic end result.

I understand the reason of cutting 100mg nic to something like 48mg...but for me that's just extra work.

As for oxidation my first order of 100mg nic lasted 10 months. I always take the time to shake it up because you can still get a hot spot when working with nic in pg. however, it's just much easier to shake up compared to nic suspended in vg.

Use a calculator, please! And yes - that's what it's for - you TELL the calculator your nic base is 100 mg/ml in PG, and it tells you how much you need for your target (strength, PG/BG ratio, etc).

To quick-check in your head, "mg/ml" is just what it sounds like. Milliigrams in each ml.
So if you want 30 mls of 3 mg/ml, well then you need 30x3 = 90 milligrams total of nic, right?
And so if you are getting it from 100 mg/ml base, you need less than a ml of it in there (90/100 or 0.9ml).

Yeah use Juice cakculator... in fact do it now before you buy juice.. play with some recipes using what ever nic blends you can find.

Me i use a 50/50 36mg/ml nic. Because it works best for the juice I vape and the way I want to buy supplies. Disadvantage vs say 100mg/ml is I have to buy more nic at a time.advantage is mistakes are not potentially harmfull.
