Morning Always
Sorry to hear that! Maybe your hubby can fix it??

Apparently part of the problem was a recalled part and it just happened to be timed right with other issues. Hopefully recall fixes it if not I'm done. This car has been nothing but a problem since we bought it

Sounds like GM issued a half ass recall on the shift cable but didn't actually notify owners because you know, my car rolling away when I thought it was in park is totally gonna make me buy a GM again
Funny you should say that..my sisters 2012 Malibu had a shift cable that acted like that..she had her BF simply adjust it and problem was gone..maybe your hubby can look at it? Might be a YouTube video on how its done..don't know for sure..

Never again will I own a GM anything
ive owned several gm vehicles. Both the cars were terrible. The trucks have served me well...... so far. But, I would never own another 'car' from them again. I still love the Camaro and Vette.
If I ever bought another car, I would look at Subaru because everyone likes Scooby doo

Gooooooood morning cornerites. Tea in hand, bacon started...

Payday later... though it's pretty tight this time around, only a 10 day check instead of 11. I hate short months. But I might be able to get a red driptip to replace the one I broke, even if I can't get anything else.

My 2003 Chev S10 has 123k on it ..4.3 V6 makes it very quick, especially off the line..
I have a 2007 Silverado with the 6.0 litre V8 to pull the boat and 5th wheel..and lastly I have a '65 Chevelle Malibu SS 2 door coupe.. 327, 4 speed and 4.11 posi makes it also fun to drive, especially cruising Friday nights with my friends..
So yeah, its been Chevrolet most my adult life, and its been a great ride! lol

We've got 131k on it, shouldn't be dying yet. It's only worth $1700 trade in so not sure what we are gonna do yet. Fix could be anywhere from $200-2000 depending what we find, I don't want to drive it sounding like a lawnmower lol.

Auto show is this week in Cleve so may head up there and wander around.

Just curious, what makes you think it's a shift cable?

Quick Google search showed the recall for it, the link? thing wasn't attached very well I guess and everyone that had the won't go into park problem was the cable came loose. But it's also just having shifting problems in general so could be transmission in general. Which will make it completely useless to fix it

Yeah all those models are fantastic- you cant kill them!!! Before I was hurt I had an 2005 z71 slt, lost it in the divorce. But, I also had a newer Malibu, biggest piece of garbage I ever owned. Lol
The classics though, are awesome I would give my left arm for a 67 chevelle

Good morning all! Congratulate me on NOT buying a sports car last night at about 2am on Ebay Motors.
If I understand this correctly you would consider buying a car online you never seen or drove in person? Wow..lol

No, I would travel to view said car. This particular one was being offered by a exotic import dealership in FL. Jumping to conclusions is fun!

I am stuck between an early 2000's Mazda MX-5, or a BMW Z4....or something more British vintage.
