Each one is based on famous cologne scents. I'm extremely find of the "Clean Vetiver". It's based on Tom Ford Grey
Sadly, Mattie loathes most fragrances...this includes scented candles and potpourri....so it is a shock that she likes what I'm using now. I also use a shaving soap and beard balm of the same scent from a local maker.

I keep an alum stick for when the straights bite. Sometimes I am in a wee hurry. Some use the 'hazel to close fine cuts and abrasions Jimi. In my safety razors, I only use Feather brand blades, and they can be aggressive on the first use.
I've grown quite fond of Voskhod & Polsilver SIs. I may just stick with the Polsilvers from now on though. I've had nothing but greatness from them. Shave, rinse, aftershave, done.

Most of my straights are customs or Dovo. I have a somewhat inexpensive Dovo "Silver Steel" that is my favourite. As for safety razors, I have yet to find one that I like better than my Merkur 34c.

I have a few vintage razors that my mom gave me from the "family" linen closet lol there's a particular Gillette slim that's become my go-to

Have you perused the selection of Italian Barber's branded razors? They are very nice, & quite economical (there is a few higher end ones tho)

I tried a tallow from "The Strop Shoppe" and did not like the waxiness. I pretty much only use glycerine/bentonite based cakes.

My first soap was Van Der Hagen. It was ok. Then I got my hands on some Tabac & that was the end of that lol

It is not tallow...but I HIGHLY recommend "Mitchell's Wool Fat". It is a triple milled soap from the UK....fiddly to lather, but worth the effort. I further recommend it be used with a shaving BOWL, as opposed to a mug...and use a shorter loft brush, nothing softer than a "best" badger....boar or synthetic is ideal.

I use a Fine Accoutrements Synthetic brush. MWF is on my short list of things to try tho. I'm currently using an Italian semi-soft soap Panna Crema. It's a damn good soap. The post shave feels great

HERESY!!!!!!
I have had the Braun 790 electric razor for about a year now..paid like $200 for it but it's absolutely the closest shave I've ever experienced from an electric....a little rub with Electric Shave first really helps getting an even closer shave..I still like Old Spice after shave...my GF likes me using it too.....even started using Brylcreem again after my last haircut, lololol

That's not the original recipe. When P&G bought it they changed the formula. They still make it in the original formula (by the original owners) in India. I can shoot you a link if you'd like
