Still waking up here. Bacon cooking... tea being slurped... albuterol being huffed, in between vape hits. :D

Realistically it just needs to work for an hour ;)
Lol!
I found a muffler shop close by in Spring Valley that has the converter in stock..they will install it for a total of $300 out the door and guaranty it will pass smog..I think I'll run this by my sister and offer to split the cost with here, at about $150 each it probly would be the easiest and fastest way to get it squared away...

Not bad at all. For my car it's looking like the part alone for a CA legal one is 600+, out of state $150.

What car you got?

2000 Camry, apparently that year's Toyota converter is just expensive, my friend has I think it's a Solara and it's the same part, he's not found anything better, but has found a guide on cleaning it which could get you through smog.

I also occasionally whisper sweet nothings to my coffee. But shh don't tell
Two timer! :p I'm not quite there with my tea yet, need to find a better fitting mug I think. But, I have been cutting down on the whiskey and drinking a LOT more tea (think I had like 6 cups yesterday not counting the before bed chamomile).

This one is a '98 Corolla... Runs great, but just needs a new converter..prices have really varied for the same part too,.like $412 at Auto Zone, $350 at Pepboys and the best deal I've found so far is at Hanson's Muffler, $300 installed
Cleaning it might work for time being but I'd rather repair it right the first time..ya' know? Like fix it once and be done..lol

I hear you, personally I just want one more year out of this car, by then I'm hoping to lease or buy something newer. And one of those good california things I'll be able to get $1-1.5k from the government to turn it in by then :D. Can't yet though. So I need to figure out how to get it to pass smog in 2 months, or just retire it for a while. I just really don't want to toss a ton of money in it when I know I'll probably have to do the same next year on it.

Love it but had to make one change (though was tempted to swap the jack for Crown too)

Catching up on some news. Aparently. A guy was following a lady threw a parking garage and pulled a knife on her. She pulled her pistol and shot him in the neck! +1 for legal carry. -1for the tarded criminal
