I just wish this moron dentist had any fuckin clue about pain managment. Less then half of the same shit i was already on. You dont think thst i might need just a bit more?:headbang::headbang::headbang::cuss2::cuss2::gaah:

The thing is, the pain meds won't help. The antibiotics will help control the infection and you just need to keep the swelling down with the motrin. Get some cold Jello.

No, the infection is still present, if they didn't give you a week of antibiotics before removing it. The infecxtion may have even spread to adjoining teeth, which would be bad, as those would also need either root canals or extraction.

Hey, @Jimi - and all corner people. Pre-op is the 11th and 20th; surgeries are scheduled for the 21st and 27th. I already deal with pain daily from the spinal crap I deal with (you've probably already seen my film: "This Is Spinal Crap" chuckle), but this other stuff added in really stinks.

I'm apprehensive, and scared about about the possibility of taking another trip down a road I once traveled back in the '90s - and I hope that I don't have to do the sequel.

Liz has been busy with house hunting (pre-qualified, and yet another home fell through - the sellers wanted cash, which made us finally understand why the seller/broker was so tight-lipped about the home - the town's getting ready to condemn it!).

That's what happens to buyers 1800 miles away.

I'm going to take a nap. Liz and I love you guys (and ladies, too).

LW & Liz (fighting the good fight ;))
Get a good rest @LOveWerks and may God watch over you my friend

Well that's probably the cause of your pain then IMHO that's pretty incompetent of the dentist, that's a open wound in a place very susceptible of getting an infection. That's crazy

I need a new 75w single batt mod to replace my IPVD2 that quit working after dropping it in a parking lot getting out of my truck this morning.. Hit the pavement hard enough it broke the crown tank and batt/cover went flying..display moved out of it's position too..After putting it back together again with a fresh batt I got lots of flicking light on the display, and the unit started to get hot..pulled the batt and said fuck it, will get another mod, but it's got to be single batt, fire down to .2 ohms with at least 75w available.. Be doing some research on my tablet later, :(

Some antibiotics and half way decent pain killers would do me a world of good right now

True; some dentists won't extract an abscessed tooth at all until you've been on antibiotics for a week... If the pain is so bad that they just have to, then they'll give you antibiotics afterward.

Then they definitely should have given you antibiotics for afterward, and yes, something strong for the pain, because even when the abscessed nerve is outta there, the abscess is an infection, which causes pain. The infection can even go into the bone, if it's bad enough. Infection in the bone takes a LONG time to heal, and can lead to sepsis (blood poisoning). (if you start running a fever, GET TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER!)
